Popular video game streamer TimtheTatman first started streaming on Twitch in 2012. Broadcasting games such as Overwatch, Fortnite, and World of Warcraft, among many others, his variety gaming streams steadily earned him fans and even a Gamers’ Choice Award for Fan Favorite Male Streamer/Gamer of the Year in 2018. TimtheTatman also recently signed an exclusivity agreement with YouTube for streaming, leaving Amazon’s Twitch platform behind.

TimtheTatman is also a massive football fan and frequently posts about his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys, on his Twitter account. He also once appeared in the NFL 100 commercial that was aired during the fifty-third Super Bowl alongside fellow NFL fan and famous streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

The 2021 NFL season started with a bang last night on September 9th. TimtheTatman’s beloved Dallas Cowboys took on the defending Superbowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and their all-star quarterback, Tom Brady. Tim was in attendance at the game and was eagerly tweeting his support for the underdog Cowboys over the course of the night.

The game was a hard-fought battle with several turnovers and missed field goals. After a late fumble by the Buccaneers, the Cowboys scored a lengthy 48-yard field goal to take a single-point lead with only 1:29 left to play in the fourth quarter. With things looking up for his team, TimtheTatman posted a tweet of himself smiling with the caption, “Feeling on top of the world knowing the cowboys are gonna win this.”

Except the Cowboys did not end up winning the game. Leading his team back down the field with a single timeout remaining, Tom Brady and company scored a 36-yard field goal of their own to steal the lead back with 7 seconds left on the clock, much to Tim’s dismay. ESPN then poked some fun directed at TimtheTatman and his earlier tweet saying, “.@timthetatman tweeted this before the Bucs got the ball back and scored to win the game.”

Of course, TimtheTatman is hardly the first person in the world to prematurely celebrate a win or post something they soon regret on Twitter. Tripwire Interactive's President recently found himself amid controversy after making comments on Texas’ abortion bill, ending with him stepping down as president for the company. Still, Tim has taking ESPN’s joking jab in good spirits, leaving up his previous tweet and instead simply replying to the sports network’s tweet with one of his own, “delete this please.”
