TikTok users have been embracing a new trend on the social media platform, one that apparently helps teenagers focus better on their homework and studies. The tip comes from a teenager named Kaitlyn, who revealed that listening to music from across the Mario Kart series helped to personally increase her focus.

As a self-confessed procrastinator, Kaitlyn noted how "literally I can never focus and I think it's genuinely fixed me." She stressed how those who discovered her advice should listen to Mario Kart's soundtrack while studying as it's "so f****** amazing," with her particular favorite track being from Coconut Mall in Mario Kart Wii. Even with the recent release of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, however, it's likely the tracks being recommended and listened to are from the franchise's older entries.

Like many TikTok trends, the hack caught on fast after going viral, with people all around the world sharing their mixed results. Whereas some found themselves distracted by the video game's happy tunes, others found themselves in the same focus zone Kaitlyn had happily discovered.

Another TikToker, @mildcurryboy, confirmed he had great success with Kaitlyn's Mario Kart hack, managing to write up 5 pages of notes whilst listening to the Mario Kart soundtrack on Spotify, and going so far as to state, "I'm shook at how effective it is." Others also chimed in with positive results and to share their excitement over trying it.

The latest Mario Kart game is Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. A racing mixed reality game, it is the 15th video game in the long-running Mario Kart franchise. The game sees players use real-life toys to build stages they can then race radio-controlled cars through, turning their homes into a Mario Kart racetrack. Their chosen character moves in relation to their input on the Nintendo Joy-Con thanks to an attached point-of-view camera on the character's kart. Boosts and weapon usage in-game also impact upon the kart's movement in real life, so if a weapon connects with the player forcing their character to stop, the kart will also stop.

At the time of writing, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit players can choose between Mario or Luigi character sets. These sets come with either Mario or Luigi, the game software, 4 gates, 2 arrow signboards, and 1 USB charging cable. The game was released in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Super Mario franchise.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is available now on Nintendo Switch.
