TikTok has become the most popular domain on the internet, with it overtaking Google in 2021. The popular short-form video website is viewed over one billion times a month, and the app has been installed over one billion times on both iOS and Android. Over the last year or so the platform has exploded in popularity and has become a part of pop culture, with video games such as Fortnite using dances from the app for its emotes.

Despite being around for a few years prior, TikTok really exploded in popularity throughout 2020 and 2021, with millions of users finding themselves passing time watching entertaining short-form videos, or even creating their own TikTok videos to pass the time during various lock downs and restrictions that the world has faced recently. Some creators have managed to find incredibly successful careers on the platform, with some users such as Charli D'Amelio gaining more than 100 million followers. Many celebrities have also found themselves on TikTok, with some of the most popular accounts including Gordon Ramsay, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift.

With so many people on TikTok, it is likely that a user may need to block someone from time to time; thankfully the app has a feature built in to do so. But, if at a later point the user decides to unblock someone, then all is not lost because it can be reversed, and they can be unblocked and followed again.

TikTok Block User

Unblocking someone on TikTok is incredibly easy to do - it is exactly the same method as blocking an account, meaning that the user has already completed the steps once before. If this is the first time blocking someone then this is an easy step-by-step guide.

First, blocking someone only appears to work on a mobile or tablet device and not desktop. However, TikTok is designed to be a mobile app, so it is very likely that the user will be using it on mobile anyway.

To block someone, the user needs to go to their profile and look for three dots on the top right part of the profile page. Click on them and the user will notice a lot of different options including sharing the profile, but at the bottom, there are options to block and report.

By clicking the block button the user will no longer be able to see the profile, and the person being blocked will no longer be able to view the user's TikTok account, with them being unfollowed and all of their TikTok videos being hidden.

In order to unblock someone, follow the same process and the block button will read unblock instead. Once unblocked, the user will need to follow the TikTok creator again as a blocked account is immediately unfollowed and isn't restored by unblocking.
