What a rollercoaster TikTok has been on this past year. The Chinese social media app was politicized by sitting United States President Donald Trump amidst rising tensions and an on-going trade war with the economic adversary. Trump's administration deemed the app a security threat due to how it collected data, so much so that Trump signed an executive order to ban Tiktok alongside WeChat — another Chinese social media and mobile payment app developed by Tencent — back in August of 2020.

Luckily for the approximately 100 million TikTok users in the United States, the executive order hasn't taken effect, even though it was supposed to in September. That means that the opportunity to follow some of the best gaming TikTok accounts is still in the cards, and the following accounts are the cream of the crop.

@gaming

The first account seems pretty obvious to follow and that is @gaming. The account currently yields just over four million followers for its combination of funny gaming content, epic in-game moments, inspirational and motivational tips for current and aspiring gamers, and even giveaways of hardware like PS5s, controllers, and more. It really focuses on gaming as a culture more than on any one particular game, so its content is likely to appeal to most people ranging from those who are really into FarmVille all the way to Call of Duty specialists.

@gamingbible

Gaming Bible is a gaming account that skews much more into the comedy end of the spectrum. For those looking for an account to deliver solid memes and funny in-game and on-stream clips, this may be the go-to. There is a certain style of video the account has been leaned into recently where it takes in-game situations and makes skit-style videos to get some knee-slapping content onto the feed, which makes it more of a comedy account that happens to focus on games rather than a gaming account that happens to focus on comedy. A recent example highlighted streamer chadknights failing to complete a reactor code in Among Us and getting killed by the Impostor afterward.

@duckieggaming

With over one hundred thousand followers, duckieggaming is a solid follow for gaming related news. Essentially, his account is filled with fast-talking headline news that is decent at keeping people in the know about what's going on in the gaming world. Don't expect many details about each topic, but how deep could one really go in minute-long videos? What is useful is his bite-sized pieces of information that keep his followers informed across about relevant updates like Grand Theft Auto 5 online adding a new map location.

@nekoztek

Another solid gaming news follow is nekoztek. Each of his videos revolve around informing followers about updates on any and all video games, valuable technology upgrades, or general nerd culture. Examples include a spec breakdown of a PS5 versus Xbox, how to install new graphics cards, and some times even gaming rumors. With over four hundred thousand followers already scrolling for his daily giveaways and news updates, he is a solid follow to consider.

@nerdnews

The last account worth following is the  account nerdnews. The account is exactly what is sounds like and the information delivered is the kind gamers should have delivered to them when scrolling, and it does a good job staying up to date on the latest news, leaks, hacks, tech upgrades, and everything in between. What differentiates nerdnews from other accounts is a bit more specificity when it comes to less flashy topics. For example, informing followers that PS5 will have limited storage at launch is informative, if not as funny as, say, @gamingbible.
