Tiger & Bunny has released a new series on Netflix, which means new adventures and enemies for superheroes and their sponsors. Not all the deadliest antagonists on this show are people with NEXT powers like the superheroes, but their powers are formidable just the same.

Some villains from the anime are just there to be captured, giving the heroes something to do and a way to thrill the audience, but there are a few others that are meant to last longer than a single episode. Who is the strongest villain in Tiger & Bunny?

8 Kriem

Kriem

Kriem is a NEXT who works in the underworld of organized crime as the loyal and most powerful minion of Jake Martinez. Despite her role as a villain in most of the first season of the anime series, it's because of her that Barnaby gets some crucial information about what really happened to his parents.

Kriem's powers include the very handy and versatile ability to control inanimate objects, and when Jake kidnaped her as a child, he noticed her talents and decided to keep her. It was either that or send her back to her parents, who hated that they had produced a NEXT child and didn't want to pay to get her back.

7 Jake Martinez

Jake Martinez

One of the earliest major villains to appear in the series, the main characters and the viewer alike were under the impression that Jake was a more important figure in the Ouroboros terrorist organization. He was feared and respected throughout the criminal underworld and even had several personal minions.

What makes Jake more powerful than other NEXT villains is that he possesses more than one superpower, a trait that was considered to be either extremely rare or impossible. He can produce and shoot powerful lasers along with creating a variety of protective barriers, but his real power is being able to read and control the thoughts of others.

6 Mark Schneider

Mark Schneider is the main antagonist of the movie, Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, which takes place between the first and second series. As the owner of the massive entertainment corporation, Apollon Media, his decisions make the most impact on the main characters and their friends in their daily working lives. That makes him powerful already, but there's something even more dangerous about Schneider.

Before he was the head of Apollon Media, Schneider started another company, Gargoyle Technica. One of its purposes was to find a way to eliminate anyone with NEXT powers, which he secretly hated. He proposes a new alternative to Hero TV in which the main characters fight wild animals to the death, and considering the political clout he has, it just might happen.

5 Andrew Scott, aka Virgil Dingfelder

Andrew Scott, aka Virgil Dingfelder

Andrew Scott is the main antagonist of the movie, but his target isn't the heroes, it's another antagonist. Andrew Scott infiltrates Gargoyle Technica under the assumed name of Virgil Dingfelder to take revenge on Mark Schneider.

There are plenty of people who are looking for Schneider for the same reasons as Scott, but none are as powerful or persistent, nor do they have as much bearing on the plot of the film. Scott has the option of working with the heroes to take down Schneider in accordance with the law, but he's blinded by the need for revenge.

4 Yuri Petrov, aka Lunatic

Yuri Petrov, aka Lunatic

There are some great scenes in Tiger & Bunny season two of Yuri Petrov trying to keep quiet in front of his nemesis Tiger while his fans laugh that Lunatic has yet to appear since his initial defeat in season one.

His powers and his inspiration come from his father, who was a legendary superhero known as Mr. Legend. He taught him to "never turn a blind eye to evil" and his son took his message more literally than intended. Yuri Petrov takes on a fanatical approach when it comes to fighting evil, and it's really his attitude that's dangerous along with his NEXT power. As Lunatic, he can make anything he touches erupt in cascades of blue flame.

3 Mugan & Fugan

Fugan-and-Mugan

The main villains of the second season, Mugan and Fugan are twins and do everything together, so it makes sense for them to share an entry. They're also some of the most overpowered and mysterious enemies to appear but have yet to cross paths with the protagonists since only the first half of season 2 has been released. Until then, they seek to double the hero fill-count of their idol, the supervillain L.L. Audin, who killed 16 heroes before he was stopped.

Mugan's main power is teleportation, while Fugan can absorb any kind of damage and throw it back. They can also take some type of drug to enhance their powers and are connected to the notorious Ouroboros gang. As far as main villains with NEXT powers are graded, these two are among the most impressive.

2 Dr. Rotwang

Dr. Rotwang

Dr. Rotwang isn't a NEXT. In fact, he hates anyone who is a NEXT and considers them to be monsters. This is one of the reasons that he hated working with other robotics experts Barnaby and Emily Brooks, and he used the technology they developed to find a way to both replace and exterminate those with NEXT powers.

In the first season, Rotwang was able to create a powerful AI that knew everything about virtually all the heroes featured on the popular television show, Hero TV. This work attracted the attention of a certain powerful and wealthy media magnate. Working in the shadows with all the resources Albert Maverick had at his disposal, Dr. Rotwang continues his work, and his creations appear throughout the series to challenge the protagonists' resolve.

1 Albert Maverick

Albert Maverick

Think of Mark Schneider after twenty more years of successfully marketing life and death as entertainment, and the likely result is Albert Maverick. At first, he's presented as one of the good guys, a mentor to Bunny and the creator of Hero TV, a media presence that helped improve the public opinion of NEXT and their powers. His own NEXT powers aren't exactly going to result in high ratings, but his ability to alter memories is a handy ability in the realms of business and politics.

The true leader of the Ouroboros, Maverick tried to pin the murder of Barnaby's parents on Jake Martinez, while Maverick himself was responsible for what happened at the lab the whole time. His plan was to replace heroes with androids.
