New Thor: Love and Thunder scenes just keep coming, with the third piece of scrapped footage now featuring Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and Pom Klementieff's Mantis dealing with the MCU's rejuvenated, yet frustrating god of thunder.

Unlike the past two deleted scenes from Thor: Love and Thunder, this one was not released by a media outlet. Instead, it comes from the small YouTube channel Geeky16, whose content consists mainly of clips from movies. The scene in question takes place towards the beginning of the film, where Chris Hemsworth's Thor is found by the Guardians contemplating his existence, albeit with the dismissed version turning out to be more whimsical than the one that made the cut.

That is to say, fans who were left wanting more scenes featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy in Thor: Love and Thunder wouldn’t have seen this added to the movie. Instead, the deleted scene would have replaced the one from the theatrical release where the Guardians and Thor are seen joining forces to rescue the Indigarrians. The clip sees Mantis and Star-Lord trying to convince Thor to help them save the locals, but instead of the latter taking off riding Stormbreaker, they fail to launch their counterattack when the three try to jump aboard the multipurpose weapon.

Reading the comments after the footage surfaced online, it’s no wonder the scene was taken out of the movie. The whole dialogue goes above and beyond the film’s already over-the-top humor. In that sense, it falls in line with the deleted scene featuring Russell Crowe's Zeus, which also approached the antagonistic king of gods as a bit of comic relief, thus making the first removed scene featuring Dionysus the only one that would fit in with the released version of Love and Thunder.

Director Taika Waititi admitted the team behind the movie completed over four hours of film, but that he had no intention of ever releasing most of that since they were taken out of the 1 hour and 59 minutes movie for a reason, and it’s fair to say most fans will agree with him by now. The Thor: Love and Thunder humor was one of the aspects of the film most criticized by some fans and critics, so it’s interesting to see with scenes like this one that Waititi had something even more extreme in mind at some point during filming.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be available on Disney Plus starting September 8, 2022.
