DLC for Alan Wake, the story about a writer experiencing more than strange things in his life, will be coming to end soon with the last release, 'The Writer'.
There has been very little details emerging regarding the content, other than it will be entitled 'The Writer'. Yes, I do know that we said there would be a third DLC coming, after 'The Writer', but we were mistaken. Coming straight from the horse's mouth, Remedy Entertainment CEO Matias Myllyrinne confirmed that the next DLC for Alan Wake would be its last.
No release date has been set for it, but the only other piece of information that Myllyrinne has given is that the ending song for the content would be a Depeche Mode song entitled "The Darkest Star". The song would have some particular meaning that ties into the story, so who knows if the writing was inspired by it?
It is rather saddening there is no more DLC coming for Alan Wake, but Remedy has confirmed they are working a new title. Will this title be coming by next year? Probably not, but I anticipate it to be on the same caliber of quality as Alan Wake, which could possibly have a sequel in the works.
Just in case you haven't gotten enough of your Alan Wake fix yet, don't forget that the current DLC, 'The Signal' is out now and ready to continue blowing your mind with a convoluted story, but in a good way. I'm looking forward to 'The Writer' and any loose ends it may tie up in the life of the protagonist. I'm just hoping this won't be the last we see of the author.
Alan Wake and its DLC, 'The Signal' are available now, exclusively for Xbox 360.
