A model has posted an incredible cosplay of Triss Merigold from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Cosplay, a portmanteau of "costume play," is an activity in which people can dress up as their favorite characters from various forms of media such as video games, anime, and comic books. The phenomenon has become a significant part of pop culture with the rise of Marvel movies and video games across the world. Cosplayers, the participants carrying out the cosplays, are very common to see at fan conventions and on social media. Some common gaming properties chosen by cosplayers are Final Fantasy, Overwatch, and Resident Evil.

Enter Mira Ladovira, a dedicated cosplayer who posts many adaptations from a variety of sources. Ladovira has created many striking portrayals of characters such as Yennifer of Vengerberg from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Evelyn Parker from Cyberpunk 2077, and A2 from Nier: Automata. Ladovira is also an avid gamer herself, with her favorite titles being The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, and Diablo 3, among others.

Ladovira, known for her stellar make-up and intricate costume work, has posted a remarkably accurate cosplay of fan-favorite The Witcher character Triss Merigold to her Twitter. The cosplay is meant to replicate Triss’s character from the quest “A Matter of Life and Death” from open-world RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Response to the post has been very positive, with other Twitter users praising Ladoriva's accurate outfits and the striking quality of the photos, done by photographer Nikolay Zharov. Ladovira is blowing up on other social media platforms as well, with her Instagram handle mira_ladovira having grown to nearly 30,000 followers.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the open-world RPG on which this cosplay is based, itself based upon a Polish novel by Andrzej Sapkowski, continues to garner widespread praise even six years after its release in 2015. Players are still finding rare content in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after hundreds of hours with the game. Featuring strong storytelling, rich worldbuilding, and a diverse set of characters, it also manages to be a perfect title for cosplays such as this one. Models are able to showcase the game’s lush costume and character design while putting their own spin on these much-beloved characters. Netflix also produced a TV series based on The Witcher, which was released in 2019. A second season is set to come out at the end of this year.

CD Projekt RED, developers of The Witcher games, followed up the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in December of last year. Unfortunately, the game did not fully live up to the lofty expectations set by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game’s performance on previous generation consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One was so poor that Sony even had the game removed from the PlayStation digital store for several months, with Cyberpunk 2077 only recently being put back up for sale on the storefront. Still, despite its problems, Cyberpunk 2077 still has the same fantastic character design that cosplayers like Mira Ladovira love.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A next-gen version is expected to hit PS5 and Xbox Series S and X later this year.
