About a week ago, a report suggested that The Witcher‘s protagonist Geralt of Rivia would guest star as a character in Bandai Namco’s forthcoming title SoulCalibur 6 when it eventually launches later this year. Now, it looks as if the official Twitter account for CD Projekt Red’s action-RPG series is even teasing as much, with the language used in a recent tweet suggesting that a reveal is coming that could confirm the rumor of Geralt being a part of the aforementioned fighting game.

As seen below in the tweet from the official Twitter account for The Witcher, fans are urged to “check back tomorrow” to confirm what is meant by the references to Kaer Morhen feeling “the sting of sparks as blades collide” yet again. The information shared in the tweet reads almost exactly like how the announcer in SoulCalibur would introduce a match-up in the fighting game, with this potentially meaning that not only will Geralt be confirmed as a playable character in the sixth installment of the series, but also that Kaer Morhen will be a stage.

For those looking forward to SoulCalibur 6 who may not be familiar with The Witcher franchise, Kaer Morhen is an old keep where witchers like Geralt of Rivia used to be trained and would occasionally mutate into new forms of themselves. Kaer Morhen was on display in both the original Witcher during the game’s prologue, as well as in what is arguably the most popular and critically acclaimed entry in the series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

All things considered, while Geralt has yet to be officially confirmed as a guest character in SoulCalibur 6, it would be totally surprising if all of these hints from CD Projekt Red were related to a completely different project altogether. Although the company’s Community Manager Marcin Momot inferred that Geralt would appear in “one of the upcoming games later this year”, which points toward SoulCalibur 6, there’s always the chance he could show up elsewhere. Should that be the case, then perhaps CD Projekt Red is waiting to stun practically everyone with Geralt’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and SoulCalibur 6 will launch in 2018 for the same platforms.
