Henry Cavill recently talked about a variety of topics including mental health, physical fitness, and he even went a little bit into injury he suffered while filming season 2 of The Witcher. For those who don’t know, Cavill suffered a hamstring injury and was forced to take a break from filming The Witcher.

Instead of focusing on the bad side of being injured, Cavill told People he took it as a sign to give himself a long-needed break. He was already working long strenuous hours that exhausted him, so when the time came where he was forced to be still, he took advantage and focused on relaxing and healing. Cavill went on to further detail the way he looks at his mental health and any roadblocks that he faces by saying, “When it comes to my mental health, [I] focus on what I can control and work on that. And that gives me something to work towards rather than something to deal with or work through or manage my life through”.

Cavill also tries to maintain a baseline level of fitness that he can adjust accordingly based on the role he lands. "I think one of the skills I've picked up over the years is just forging ahead regardless of difficulty or hard work or trials and tribulations," he said. Seeing Cavill give himself a break should be a good sign for fans, as the actor has detailed the intense workout regimen he endures in order to play the roles he is getting, so the actor definitely deserves a well-needed rest. Staying inside isn’t a problem for the Justice League star, as Cavill has no fear of admitting his obsession with Warhammer and PC gaming.

Actors are no strangers from suffering injuries while on set. Many times filming calls for long hours, vast locations, and strenuous work. When it comes to action films, the actors have an even bigger roadblock in dealing with the physicality of emulating combat on film that looks both authentic and brutal. Harrison Ford was one of the recent actors to be injured while on set. This happened during the filming of Indiana Jones 5.

The Witcher's second season will debut on Netflix in December and it will pick up where the first season left off. The production of this project has gone through a rollercoaster of a journey, as it was held up due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and delayed due to cast/crew members catching the coronavirus. Still, fans will be awarded for the long wait this December.

Not only will fans be getting a second season of The Witcher series, but they will also be getting an upcoming prequel series and an animated movie titled Nightmare of the Wolf. Finally, it was announced that The Witcher 3 would be getting an upcoming DLC based on the Netflix live-action adaptation that comes for free with the next-gen upgrade.

The Witcher season 2 will debut on December 17, 2021.
