The Witcher 3's Geralt is an enhanced being with mutant powers that make him faster and stronger than the average warrior. But to have Geralt at the best of his abilities on the battlefield means learning all there is to know about alchemy and crafting.

Potions and other concoctions can give Geralt extra stat buffs to help him deal with enemies and monsters. Unfortunately, there are drawbacks to using such potions, as they can raise Geralt's toxicity level, causing more harm than good. To craft superior potions in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, having White Gull in Geralt's inventory is vital. Here's how to get it.

Where To Buy The White Gull Manuscript

Before using alchemy to create White Gull, Geralt will need the manuscript to make it. Thankfully, this can be purchased early in the game from one of the first herbalists Geralt encounters, Tomira. She is found East of Sawmill in The Witcher 3's White Orchid.

Geralt will first meet Tomira when he's contracted to hunt and kill the Griffin in White Orchid. To purchase the manuscript, ask Tomira what she has for sale. The manuscript and other vital ingredients will be there to buy. Geralt will need enough money to purchase these items, so it may be better to return to Tomira after completing some quests.

Geralt will likely pick up most – if not all – of the required ingredients to make White Gull in his travels looting chests and barrels to picking herbs in the wild. Those looking to obtain White Gull as quickly as possible will need the following items:

  • 1 Empty Bottle
  • 1 Redanian Herbal
  • 1 Cherry Cordial
  • 1 Mandrake Cordial
  • 1 Arenaria

Where To Buy The Ingredients

Before looking for the Ingredients for the White Gull potion, it's better to Pin them in Geralt's Alchemy inventory by pressing the Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or Y button on the Switch. Doing so will make the formula appear in shops, so it's easier to remember and find all the required items. Furthermore, the pinned herbs will be marked out on the mini-map for Geralt to harvest them in the field. Depending on where the player is in the game, items can be obtained from the following sellers:

  • Tomira in White Orchid: She will have the White Gull manuscript, an empty bottle, Arenaria, and Rednanian herbal.
  • Stjepan the Innkeep at Velen's Oxenfurt Harbor - Stjepan will have the two remaining ingredients for White Gull as stocks of both Mandrake Cordial and Redanian Cordial. To reach Stjepan's Inn, use Fast Travel to locate the Oxenfurt Harbor in Velen and walk east to the Inn frequented by drunken soldiers and Witch Hunters. Stjepan is inside the Inn serving behind the bar.
