The Witcher 3 offers a massive open-world setting brimming with things to do and places to visit. It's an easy world to get lost in, even while exploring some of the main story's missions. During that story, players will be tasked with figuring out where Uma is in the Ugly Baby quest, and it can take a bit of work to locate him.

Uma is "the Ugliest Man Alive," afflicted by a curse that gives him such a horrific and twisted appearance. However, Uma is also a central character when it comes to tracking down Ciri in The Witcher 3so fans will have to locate him if they want to make progress to the end of the game. Of course, Ugly Baby is an umbrella quest containing several objectives, so tracking him down is a bit difficult.

Locating Uma

Ultimately, Uma is located at Crow's Perch, the same location Geralt visits repeatedly while working with the Bloody Baron. Uma is serving as the Baron's court jester, with Geralt deducing that Uma is key in locating Ciri during the events of The Witcher 3's main story. Geralt will simply need to tell the Baron's Sargeant that they're taking Uma during the Ugly Baby quest, and the story will continue from there.

Yennefer in The Witcher 3

After players have located Uma, they'll need to lift the creature's curse. In time, players will enlist the help of Yennefer, and eventually, restore Uma back to his original form by breaking the curse that's been placed on him. As it turns out, Uma isn't just the creature many have assumed he is, as he's a powerful Sage by the name of Avallac'h. Of course, Avallac'h plays a central role in the wider story of The Witcher 3, and his curse is one of the more interesting elements of the game's narrative.

Luckily, finding Uma in Ugly Baby is relatively easy, serving as something of a secondary manhunt while players are out looking for Ciri. Ugly Baby is a major turning point in The Witcher 3's story, and one of the more interesting portions of the game, so it's not a terrible place for players to invest a decent chunk of time in.

There's still plenty to do in the game after finding Uma during Ugly Baby, so players should leave no stone unturned while there out in the wild. Some of The Witcher 3's best quests are even completely removed from the main narrative.

The Witcher 3 is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
