The Witcher 3 On Nintendo Switch is Already Discounted at Amazon

A couple of days ago, the studio finally launched The Witcher 3 on Nintendo's hybrid console, allowing players on that platform to experience the third installment in The Witcher franchise. The Switch port of The Witcher 3 was first announced during E3 2019 last June. Now, retailer Amazon is currently offering the best price for The Witcher 3 on the Switch.

Amazon is currently offering The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition on the Switch for $49.94, which is 17% off its list price of $59.99. Amazon's offer is significantly cheaper than most retailers who are offering the game full price. Of course, the biggest selling point of purchasing The Witcher 3 on the Switch is the ability to play the game anywhere. Unfortunately, the port did not take advantage of some of the Switch's other distinct features, and here is a list of reasons why motion controls should come to The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch.

During the initial announcement back at E3 2019, some players were skeptical about how the game would perform on Nintendo's console. As we all know, The Witcher 3 features cutting-edge graphics and a massive amount of content. Prior to its release last Tuesday, Japanese publication Famitsu revealed that The Witcher 3 runs faster on the Switch than the PS4 and Xbox One. The game was able to this because it shortened the draw distance between Geralt and objects in the game, which means that it will only load assets that are close to the player. Other graphical changes were also made in the game's cutscenes and shadow details in its environment.

As of the moment, developer CD Projekt Red is currently preoccupied with the development of its upcoming sci-fi game, Cyberpunk 2077. The game is set to release on April 16, 2020, for the PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. However, during the company's last earnings report, CD Projekt Red may have teased The Witcher 4. The studio confirmed that both The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises will be moving to a dual-franchise model, which means that both of them will play a big part in CD Projekt Red's future plans.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now for the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
