At Nintendo's E3 Direct presentation today, the Japanese gaming company confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on its way to the Nintendo Switch this year. Several months ago, rumors surfaced online about the possible port of CD Projekt Red's critically acclaimed game on the Switch. Of course, given the console's limited power, and the massive content of The Witcher 3, some people dismissed the rumors as impossible.

The Witcher 3 will be the first game in the series to ever hit a Nintendo console, proving once again the power and capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition on the Switch will include the base game, together with all extra content released such as both story expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, amounting to 16 DLCs in total.

Apart from the game itself and its numerous DLCs, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition on the Switch will contain bonus physical goodies including The Witcher Universe compendium, the game's map, and several stickers. The upcoming Switch version of The Witcher 3 will be available both digitally and in retail, and the game will be ported by Saber Interactive, in close partnership with the game's developer, CD Projekt Red.

During its initial release back in 2015, The Witcher 3 was able to captivate both newcomers and veteran players to the franchise with its engaging storyline, well-fleshed out characters, and stellar graphics, earning the status of the best-selling game in the Witcher series.  Unfortunately, Nintendo is yet to give a specific release date for the Switch port of The Witcher 3, but the company did promise that it will be coming out this year.

Apart from The Witcher 3, Nintendo's E3 Direct presentation today also revealed other third-party titles heading to the hybrid console soon. Capcom's Resident Evil 5 and 6, initially released in 2009 and 2012 respectively, will be joining Nintendo's growing list of mature-rated games, which is a step forward towards the company's goal of attracting players from all backgrounds to the Nintendo Switch.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch version releasing 2019.
