CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt players on the Nintendo Switch will be receiving the Netflix based DLC. The extra content inspired by Henry Cavill's rendition of the Geralt of Rivia will arrive with the next gen versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on December 14th.

Due to the popularity of Netflix's Witcher adaptation CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be getting some Netflix inspired DLC. Said content was slated to come side-by-side with the next gen versions of the title, but such a statement caused some confusion whether the Nintendo console would also be getting the Netflix based content.

The news came from The Witcher official Twitter page that the next gen versions would arrive on December 14th, and down in the comments section Switch fans got what they were looking for. The Witcher page was responding to comments which led to the confirmation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Netflix DLC still coming to Nintendo Switch. Players are yet to know exactly what this DLC will include, as the only thing mentioned so far is armor inspired by Henry Cavill’s look in the Netflix show.

The news that the Netflix DLC is still set to come out with the next gen versions of the title is good news for players. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has remained very popular in the seven years since its initial release in 2015. However, the Netflix show has helped breathe new life into the Witcher world with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s player count spiking when season 2 of the show arrived.

Nintendo fans will be glad to hear that they aren’t being left out in this respect. This can sometimes be the case due to the hardware limitations of the Switch that are becoming more and more apparent as time goes on. One needs only to look at Sonic Frontiers on Switch to see how the console can really struggle to compete with graphics on the latest consoles.

While it is good news that fans of the game who play on Switch aren’t being forgotten about, it may be a bittersweet victory as their console is really struggling to keep up with the next gen consoles. Despite the Switch not having the power to support a next gen upgrade fans can take in solace in the fact they're still getting some extra content for free that those with more powerful systems are also being given.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launching on December 14th.
