Fresh off the heels of the Next-Gen Update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a fan of the series created a pair of custom-painted controllers to celebrate the update. The fan then posted their work on social media, including the r/Witcher3 subreddit, where they received praise and compliments from other fans of The Witcher 3.

The Next-Gen Update added some new features and content to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across multiple platforms. From the graphical fidelity upgrades to the addition of cross-platform save transfers, and even the inclusion of community mods, fans of The Witcher 3 that have played the game on previous-gen hardware can now experience the game again or try the series for the first time. Be it on a new PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S, the Next-Gen Update for The Witcher 3 was made with ray-tracing and high framerates in mind.

A Reddit user and self-proclaimed Team Yennefer member by the name of GriftyGamerGuy painted and customized a DualSense controller and an Xbox Wireless Controller. The paint jobs included adornments and references to The Witcher 3 on the faceplates. The white versions of each respective controller served as the base for their new coats of paint. On the DualSense controller, GriftyGamerGuy painted the five Witcher signs Aard, Axii, Yrden, Igni, and Quen on the touchpad, with the Wolf School medallion on the left-hand grip and The Witcher 3 logo on the face buttons. On the Xbox controller, GriftyGamerGuy opted to move the Witcher signs to the right-hand grip, the game's logo to the center, and kept the Wolf School medallion on the left-hand grip. Each controller was placed on a controller stand, with a CD of the game's soundtrack lying nearby for scale.

GriftyGamerGuy's post received over 900 upvotes over the span of a week on the r/Witcher3 subreddit, with comments praising their work and asking if they take commission requests. GriftyGamerGuy further commented that controller work is their primary source of income, and told any users that asked about their controllers to send a direct message. Thanks to the Next-Gen Update, fans of The Witcher 3 can use ray tracing and other graphical fidelity improvements to enhance their experience and enjoy the journey with their controller of choice in hand.

Between the graphical enhancements and new, hidden surprises to discover in the Next-Gen Update, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt feels like a new game all over again. Despite some of the bugs and the hotfixes being issued to fix them, The Witcher 3 is back in the spotlight, just as it was in 2015.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
