Given its status as one of the most successful open world RPGs of all time, it is no surprise that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has built up a loyal community over the years. That same fan base is full of creative people, with one The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt fan making replicas of some of the game’s medallions.

While real life Witcher medallions are nothing new, players almost always focus on recreating the Wolf school’s design. This is hardly a surprise, as the Witchers that players know the best come from the school of the Wolf. Geralt of Rivia is a member of this group of Witchers, as are Vesemir, Eskel, and Lambert. As such, players have a close attachment to this school and its values, which prioritize professionalism and reliability over all else. However, there are other schools that deserve some appreciation.

Reddit user ThePonderingAlpaca sought to shine a light on these other schools, with the medallion for the school of the Cat found dead center. Aside from having an armor set in The Witcher 3 that many fans hunt after, the school of the Cat has an intriguing backstory. The group messed with the mutation process when creating Witchers, giving them more emotions instead of less - something that has made Wolf school members violent and unpredictable. They also became assassins as opposed to proper Witchers once work began to die down.

With eyes etched into the wood as well as plenty of intricate details, the Wolf school medallion looks terrific. Two more medallions focus on the school of the Viper, though both boast very different designs. One is a coiled snake while the other is a traditional snake head, though both look incredible. In the comments, ThePonderingAlpaca confirms that the coiled medallion was tough to make, and it is easy to imagine why. All-but-extinct, the Viper school’s stealth expertise was not enough to save the comrades of Letho from their demise.

The final two medallions focus on the Griffin Witcher school, a faction that is just as well-respected as the school of the Wolf. Specializing in Signs, this group used the magic more than swords in their fights, though their base was eventually destroyed in an avalanche. While there are still Griffin Witchers on The Continent, the actual school is no longer practicing. Both Griffin medallions do a great job of capturing the group’s logo, and ThePonderingAlpaca deserves the praise they have received so far.

With the Bear and Manticore schools not receiving medallions, perhaps this Witcher 3 fan will continue to make these awesome replicas. While it will likely be a while before a new Witcher game releases, fans are clearly staying busy with awesome art projects like this.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions in development.
