The well-received fantasy RPG The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings will be making its way to Xbox 360, where Microsoft console fans will also be able to share in the frustration of a great game.

The Witcher 2 had previously been only available on the PC, but plans for a console release have finally come to pass and the game will be seeing the light of day in living rooms. Developer CD Projekt RED had talked about a console related announcement coming to E3 and it has come to pass.

The company will be bringing a full adaptation of the game to consoles and will not be neglecting any features present in the PC version. Don’t expect a port of the game, but one built specifically for the Xbox 360.

You can check out our review of The Witcher 2 and see what the big deal is. If you want the short version: based on a fantasy novel series, The Witcher series is one of the best non-linear, mature, and awesome role playing games to come out in a long time. Check out the official announcement trailer below.

If you’re in the mood for a rich, deep, and almost overwhelmingly beautiful RPG, you may want to take some time and investigate The Witcher 2 when it comes to consoles. Or, if you’re so inclined, check out the PC version, which is available now.

While another fantasy RPG might not be your cup of tea in the midst of Dragon Age 2 and the upcoming Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you would be doing yourself a disservice to not check out The Witcher 2 when it comes to consoles. And if you’re really curious about the game now, you can also check out the first 20 minutes of gameplay and marvel at the graphics.

The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings is available now for PC and will be releasing Q4 2011 for Xbox 360.
