Created by Sarah Streicher, The Wilds Season 2 introduces a new group of survivors comprised of eight teenage boys. This drama-filled season follows the show's original characters as they continue to navigate the deserted island, while also taking viewers back to Day 1 for the newbies. All eight episodes of the new season premiered May 6 on Amazon Prime.

The general premise of the series goes beyond the typical "stranded on an island” trope. It has a clear instigator and antagonist in Gretchen Klein, a former professor who helms the “Dawn of Eve” project, and the newly introduced “Twilight of Adam”. Here is everything you need to know about the new group of teenage castaways.

Rafael Garcia (played by Zack Calderon)

image of Rafael from The Wilds

Rafael is a soft-spoken teenager who lives in Tijuana and attends high school in San Diego. He's shown being challenged as he crosses the border to go to school and spend time with his girlfriend. He balances living in two different worlds and carries to weight of what his parents and peers think of him. He is drawn toward people with strong personalities and quickly strikes up a friendship with survivor Seth Novak.

Seth Novak (played by Alex Fitzalan)

Production still of Seth in The Wilds

Seth is full of charm and laughter. He's smart as a whip and is a natural-born leader, but is it all a facade? He is shown stirring up drama both on the island and in his real life, making it seem like getting stranded in the first place was his great escape. He has a keen sense of humor and can improv a comedy act in seconds. People seem to naturally trust him, except for his step-brother Henry. Does the actor look familiar? Fitzalan's previous roles include Slender Man and The Society.

Henry Tanaka (portrayed by Aidan Laprete)

production still of Henry from The Wilds

Henry is the opposite of his step-brother Seth, he is an emo, solo-type who's never caught without his noise-canceling headphones. At one point in the season, he obnoxiously sings My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade," insinuating that he has excellent taste. The character is a great help to the survivors as he is knowledgeable about disaster situations.

Josh Herbert (played by Nicholas Coombe)

production still of Josh in The Wilds

Josh is a talkative and friendly teenager from a wealthy family in San Diego. He doesn't fit in with his family and his anxious personality stands out among the esteemed athletic bunch. He is a hypochondriac and takes homeopathic medicines to account for his stress, and various ills and allergies. While at the beginning of the season, he is presented as a likable (albeit annoying) guy, as the season plays on a life-changing event causes him to gravitate to a darker side. Does the actor look familiar? Coombe previously guest starred in iZombie and The Magicians.

Kirin O'Conner (played by Charles Alexander)

production still of Kirin in The Wilds

First seen as a Grade-A meathead jock, Kirin won't win over many fans from the beginning. But throughout the season, a softer side of him begins to come out as he takes an outcast under his wing. While the outcome isn't entirely good, it adds depth to his character and reveals that not everything is as it seems. Overall, Kirin is a short-tempered lacrosse player who is willing to take the lead.

Ivan Taylor (played by Miles Gutierrez-Riley)

production still of Ivan from The Wilds

Ivan is full of energy, while a bit standoffish at times, he has the purest intentions that are sometimes clouded by his passion. He is an activist and aspiring playwright, and has a keen fashion sense that he refuses to let go of while stranded on an island. He is quick on his feet and tries to channel his energy into productivity on the island, even if those around him don't appreciate his effort. It is revealed through flashbacks that Ivan previously had beef with Kirin which led the young fashionista to lose his best friend and boyfriend Luke.

Scotty Simms (played by Reed Shannon)

production still of Scotty from The Wilds

Scotty has a big personality and tends to stay on everybody's good side. He and Ivan get into a spat during the early days of being stranded, but it is quickly squashed as both guys aren't afraid to own up to their behavior. He is quick on his feet and innovative, often seen side-by-side with his best friend Bo. Does the actor sound familiar? Shannon voiced Ekko in the animated series Arcane.

Bo Leonard (played by Tanner Ray Rook)

production still of Bo from The Wilds

Bo and Scotty are this season's Toni and Martha. The two are tight-knit pals who butt heads when they don't see eye-to-eye. By himself, Bo is soft-spoken and naively optimistic, despite having come from a volatile upbringing. He is a team player and the island's only unproblematic fave.
