It is safe to say that the majority of The Umbrella Academy fans had to pick their jaws off the ground after watching the last few moments of this Netflix series, which stayed true to form with a cliffhanger of note! Leaving behind more questions than answers, viewers' minds have been working in overdrive trying to solve the mysteries of Sir Reginald Hargreeves' new relality, while still trying to process the bizarre events that took place.

Some fan theories are just way out there, and highly unlikely even for the extraordinary universe of The Umbrella Academy, whereas others seem altogether plausible. Here are the most logical answers to the biggest questions on everyone's minds after Season 3's finale.

8 Ben and The Jennifer Incident

The Umbrella Academy Ben and the Jennifer Incident Season 3

The post-credit scene of the final episode of The Umbrella Academy shows a sneak peek at Ben on a train in Korea. This Ben appears to have no scar on his face, which lead most fans to believe that he is the Umbrella's Ben reincarnate, however, Steve Blackman sets things straight by stating that it is the Sparrows' version aboard that train. How did he get from the States to Korea so fast, and what is his ultimate goal?

The topic of Jennifer is quite relevant because the girl is somehow connected to Umbrella Ben's death, and it becomes evident that Sparrow's Ben also knew her in his lifetime. Seeing that the timeline has been reset and Luther is alive once again, it is possible that this mysterious Jennifer can be tracked down and the pair can hopefully share a less tragic ending this time. Alternatively, his birth mother could potentially reside in Korea and Ben is simply returning to his roots, having no Sparrow brethren to lean on anymore.

7 Allison's Revenge

The Umbrella Academy Allison Hargreeves Season 3 Umbrella #3

When the timeline is reset and the surviving characters are revealed to the audience, dearest Sloane is ominously missing. Allison's fate has already shown to be the picture of perfection, and her reason for landing separately from the other Hargreeves is understandable but many fans (and poor Luther) are desperate to find out what happened to the #5 Sparrow.

In Season 3 episode 8, Allison is seen striking a deal with Sir Reginald, with the supposed promise of receiving all she desires; an impossible family consisting of 2019's Claire and 1963's Ray Chestnut. Allison clearly does not take kindly to Luther and Sloane's relationship, and fans have seen how vindictive this Umbrella can get, so who's to say that separating the new love birds isn't part of her deal with Reggie?

6 Has Everyone Lost Their Powers?

The Umbrella Academy Unanswered Questions No Powers Hargreeves Marigold Particles

The surviving seven lands in this new timeline without their powers, but that doesn't mean that all children born in the 12th hour of October 1st have suffered the same fate. Coincidentally, those who emerge from the elevator (except Luther) were used as power sources for the Oblivion machine just moments before, and Marigold particles are seen sapped from their bodies. These particles are likely the source of the Hargreeves' superhuman capabilities, so could this mean that they have been sucked dry?

In Season 3's new timeline, Sir Reginald had organized a new set of siblings for himself with the Sparrows, and he may have done the same in the latest reset timeline. Whether or not Allison still has ties with Reggie is undetermined but very likely, so she and her new team could still be walking around with special abilities.

5 Abigail and The Marigold Particles

The Umbrella Academy Sir Reginald and Abigail Hargreeves Season 3

It seems that Sir Reginald's entire motive for everything was to be reunited with his beloved Abigail, who appears to have suffered from a fatal illness. Sir Reginald is clearly not of this world, so it is safe to assume that Abigail's biology is just as alien, but is she somehow connected to the Marigold particles, which are evidently just as foreign as their potential creators?

Who's to say that aliens reproduce as humans do? It could be that Reginald and Abigail similarly produced offspring to fish or frogs by simultaneously spraying their reproductive spores over the environment, creating embryos in the process. In Season 3 episode 1 of The Umbrella Academy, viewers can see that conception to birth happened within a couple of minutes for these superhuman babies and their dispersion over the world appears completely random.

These alien forms could have artificially inseminated the human population and then tracked down their offspring; all part of the world domination process. Remember, Reggie tells Five that the Kugelblitz isn't his first front-row seat to a world's destruction, implying that he has done this all before, possibly even on multiple occasions.

4 Allison Is In The Void

The Umbrella Academy Unanswered Questions Allison, Clar and Ray Chestnut

After killing her father and pushing the menacing red button, Allison is rewarded with an impossible life including both Claire and Ray, all apparently living in Patrick's home. Many fans believe that this is simply too good to be true and, considering that Allison didn't emerge from the elevator with the rest of the survivors, is too suspicious to ignore.

Many viewers believe that Allison actually got the raw end of the deal and ended up in Klaus's favorite neighborhood; the afterlife. Steve Blackman squanders these ideas, however, when he vehemently denies Allison's death in an exclusive interview with ET Online. This impossible outcome will surely have some kind of adverse effect on the timeline (what about Patrick?), but fans will have to wait for Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy to find out!

3 Reginald Planned All Apocalypses

The Umbrella Academy Fan Theories Sir Reginald and Five Season 3

Whether or not the Kulgeblitz was intended, it is undeniable that the flaming-red orb is ultimately beneficial to Reginald's whole plan to reset the Universe. However, could this be his third attempt (or more) at successfully resurrecting his wife? Some fans believe that Sir Reginald intentionally isolated and antagonized Viktor from early on not because he was afraid of the White Violin but because he knew that once his untrained powers were unleashed, it would be catastrophic.

The Season 2 Sir Reginald is less than willing to help his children, which has many viewers believing he knew that his plans would inevitably come to fruition in the Hargreeves stuffed things up again without his guidance. The third apocalypse would have likely happened when the Hotel Oblivion's button was pushed, regardless of the Kugelblitz, but the only way he could get seven sacrificial lambs to the slaughter was with the promise of saving the Universe in return for their cooperation.

2 The Squirrel Academy

The Umbrella Academy Fan Theories Raymond Chestnut and The Squirrel Academy Season 3

So many fan theories revolve around Allison, but seeing as she went through such substantial character development in Season 3, it's no surprise. Attentive fans have a field day when the camera focuses on a squirrel decal in the home of Allison's new-and-improved family, something that did not appear in the previous timeline (in Season 3 episode 2)

With all the changes in this reset timeline, choosing to emphasize this slight change in interior design is surely a clue of things to come. First, there was The Umbrella Academy, then it's the Sparrows; could it be that this timeline consists of a new squirrel-inspired set of Hargreeves? The fact that Raymond's surname is Chestnut cannot simply be a coincidence, and his expression at the end suggested sinister undertones. This version of Ray could possess a different personality completely, which could mean that The Squirrel Academy could be the villains for the next installment of the series.

1 Sloane: The Double Agent

The Umbrella Academy Sloane Hargreeves Season 3 Sparrow #5

Of all those involved in the Universe reset at the Hotel Oblivion, only seven emerged from the elevator, with Reginald, Allison, and Sloane conspicuously missing. Viewers are well aware of Allison and Sir Reginald's connection and see that both apparently are living their dream lives, but what about Sloane? Could she has also been working for Reggie on the down low, and received her ultimate wishes in the new timeline as well?

What makes some viewers suspicious is when Sir Reginald basically tells Ben in Season 3 episode 10 that he is useless because Allison is the one who killed Harlan and Reggie united the families. Why would he feel responsible for the Hargreeves union, when the wedding was the catalyst for that? Reggie possibly orchestrated the whole thing, convincing Sloane to win Luther over, as yet another cog in his evil scheme.
