Although some may not have heard of it, The Surge is the newest release from Deck 13 (Lords of the Fallen) and it is being called Dark Souls in a sci-fi setting. Those interested in The Surge but who still don't know much about the game can check out the review here. It may have launched last week, but there are still several launch-week discounts available at various online retailers, some as high as 20% off for the PC version.

The largest deal is at the UK-based Green Man Gaming with a 20% price drop to $39.99. To get the full discount you'll need to be a GMG VIP member, which means you just need to login or create an account to get their best price. It is not known how long GMG's discount will last, but other deals as good as this one have dried up recently, so it may only be around for a limited time.

The Surge Release Month Deals

The biggest price cut as mentioned is available at digital retailer GMG for $40 - with a similar deal at digital retailer DLGamer. Both retailers are, of course, providing the Steam codes for The Surge.

For our pals across the pond, you can look to GamesPlanet for a discount on a copy of The Surge from £40 to £33.99. Note that as far as we can tell, third party keys from authorized retailers are not selling region-locked keys (short of those being sold in Russia and Eastern Europe), so you should be able to purchase at whatever region you wish at favorable currency pricing. To make sure you don't run into any problems, we recommend avoiding this altogether and simply buying the game in the proper currency.

The Surge is currently available on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Significant discounts are not available at this point on the console platforms. No expiration dates are noted from any of the deals listed above, and given the game is now released - the $10 off discount on the PC/Steam copy of The Surge should be available for a long while.
