For most of the past decade or so, there has been a significant overlap between The Sims 4 and Dragon Age players, and one among them has managed to recreate the companions from BioWare's fantasy saga in The Sims 4. Though the character creator in Dragon Age: Origins left a lot to be desired, even at the time, both franchises have since established a reputation for having a powerful toolset to create one's in-game avatar, with Dragon Age: Inquisition easily having the best character creator in any BioWare title.

Yet as fun as it may be to play the Hero of Ferelden, Champion of Kirkwall, or Herald of Andraste, one of the most famous and most appealing aspects of the Dragon Age saga comes from its colorful cast of characters – the player's party members, in particular. From the haughty Morrigan, Witch of the Wilds, to the Wayward Magister of Tevinter, Dorian Pavus, these memorable companions have left a strong impression on fans of the Dragon Age games.

A player of The Sims 4 named Pocketpeanuts managed to recreate the companions of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Inquisition, sharing the completed party roster with the Sims community on Reddit. The recreations found traction on Twitter as well, where former Dragon Age producer and director Mark Darrah retweeted them.

Though it's tough to create a Qunari under the constraints of The Sims 4's character creator, the resemblance between the recreated versions of Morrigan and Alistair stand out as the most uncanny by far. One also can't help but admire the effort in recreating a Mabari War Hound using the pet designer tools in The Sims 4, as the results almost match the original.

With The Sims 5 in early testing, and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf reportedly aiming for a late 2023 release, both franchises are approaching their next chapter. Based on what Electronic Arts was willing to divulge on the direction of the Sims sequel, the focus on customization in The Sims 5 might allow players such as Pocketpeanuts to recreate their favorite characters from other games with even more depth and accuracy. By the time The Sims 5 comes out, players will likely be introduced to the cast of characters in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Though not much is known about the companions of the fourth Dragon Age at this time, players should expect marketing for the BioWare title to kick off very soon.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
