With the constant release of new Expansion Packs, The Sims 4 always strives to improve its gameplay and introduce a new level of realism. My Wedding Stories Expansion pack brings seven new events that are very close to reality, and the Family Gathering is one of them.
A Family Gathering is a very heartwarming event in The Sims 4. Sims can get together with their family and loved ones to celebrate their traditions. This article helps players on how to complete the Family Gathering event.
How To Set Up A Family Gathering In The Sims 4
Like all The Sims 4 activities, The Family Gathering wedding event can be planned by either using the phone or the calendar. Keep in mind that the latter is more flexible, as Simmers can choose a specific day and time. Meanwhile, by using the phone, the event will start immediately. Once players choose a method, select the Plan/Add Wedding Event option then choose Family Gathering.
The event cost 100$ and it requires a couple of steps to be planned. These steps are:
- Invite Sims
- Select activities
- Select a place
Invite Sims
Unlike the Wedding event, the Family Gathering only requires two categories; host and guests. The host has to be part of the couple, while the guests can be anyone from the friends or family list, as long as there are more than two. Otherwise, the event won't begin.
It's worthy of note that there are no Entertainer and Mixologist categories. However, players can manually hire one of them by clicking on a microphone or a bar, respectively.
Select Activities
Like most Sims 4 wedding-related events, there are six activities to choose from:
- Desserts: Buy the Banquet and pick one of the desserts.
- Drinks: Order a single or group serving of drinks from the bar.
- Tea: Use the Double Happiness Tea Set or Just a Spot of Tea from Buy Mode to make tea and serve it to a Sim.
- Dancing: Dance to a piece of radio music or click on a dance floor and select dance.
- Have Toasts: Use the Toasting Celebrating Bucket to make a toast.
- Celebration Feast: Buy the Wooden Banquet from Buy Mode and Call for Meal.
Select A Place
There are various locations Simmers can choose from the last category list, like Venue, Beaches, Bars, and so on. But, if players wish to make it more real-life and down to earth, they can always pick one of the couples' Home Lots. There, they can take pictures using any The Sims 4 camera at their leisure to always keep the memory.
If Simmers are on the phone, this will be the last step. However, the ones who are planning with a calendar still need to pick a time. Any period is fine as long as it's between 6 AM to 11 PM. If players wish to later change anything, they can click on the Edit Event option on the calendar.
