While it was criticized at launch due to a general lack of content and features when compared to previous games in the series, The Sims 4 has slowly but surely started to turn itself around. This is thanks to a steady release of updates, patches, and most notably, expansion packs. The latest expansion pack for The Sims 4Seasons, released just a few days ago, and it adds changing seasons to the game, as well as holidays, such as the fictional Winterfest. Which, bizarrely enough, essentially lets players have sex with Santa Claus.

Winterfest's Santa Claus equivalent is a character named Father Winter, who can be summoned if players have a fireplace in their home during the winter season. Like Santa Claus, Father Winter looks to bestow Sims with presents when he appears, but players can take the relationship a step further by flirting with the magical old man. If players are able to improve their relationship with Father Winter enough, they can then "woohoo" with him (Simlish for sex), and even have his children.

As reported by Kotaku, children who are born from a relationship with Father Winter have the special trait called Father Winter’s Baby. These children don't seem to inherit any of their father's magical abilities, though they do seem to acquire satisfaction points at a faster rate than other Sims in the game.

While some players may be surprised that The Sims 4 lets players engage in "woohoo" with Father Winter/Santa Claus, it's worth pointing out that the franchise has a long history of weird gameplay features. For example, past games in the series allow players to get impregnated by space aliens and give birth to half-alien, half-human hybrid children.

Even so, the odd ability to procreate with Father Winter may overshadow the other things the Seasons expansion brings to the table. The expansion appears to have been received positively by the community so far, as, like the Cats and Dogs expansion, it adds some long-awaited features to the game.

Moving forward, fans should be able to expect The Sims 4 to continue to improve with additional expansions and new content. Whether or not it ever reaches the level of popularity as The Sims 2 and 3 remains to be seen, but as long as it avoids controversies like the DLC-within-DLC debacle, then it should be on the right track.

The Sims 4 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
