The Sims 4: Part-Time Job Guide

The Sims 4 opens many doors to opportunity by giving gamers a playground for all their hearts' desires regarding their Sims' lives. One of the most popular life simulators, The Sims franchise continues to expand on its gameplay and lore with its most recent series. Storytellers and world builders can do just about anything with all its features, including getting a part-time job. Sometimes Sims want to avoid committing to a full-on career, or they need to earn money to fund their passion project without sacrificing their time. This leaves time for more exciting adventures like alien abductions or exploring different worlds.

Whatever the reason, Sims have many options to find the perfect job to fund their dreams and goals. Part-time jobs have benefits and faults that provide a challenge for players who like to keep their gameplay more realistic. Let's review the pros and cons of part-time jobs, which ones are available, and who can get them in The Sims 4.

All Part-Time Jobs In The Sims 4

There are 10 part-time jobs in The Sims 4, including 5 base game jobs, 3 from the Island Living Expansion pack, and 2 from the High School Years Expansion pack. Part-time jobs are much more casual and typically have shorter work days and less pay than careers. Part-time jobs all have 3 promotion levels. Once a Sim has maxed out a part-time job, they can make more money by getting a raise and bonuses just like with careers.

The most distinct difference is that teens and older Sims can get part-time jobs, while teens are restricted from careers. Adult Sims can have up to two part-time jobs as long as they don't have conflicting times, but teens are limited to one. A teen in an after-school activity such as Cheer, Football, Chess, or Computer teams can still get a part-time job if the times don't conflict. However, teens with part-time jobs will have to quit to join an after-school activity, so players must join the activity before getting the job to do both.

Base Game

There are 5 part-time jobs included in The Sims 4 base game, which went free-to-play in October 2022. The part-time jobs include Baby Sitter, Barista, Fast Food Employee, Manual Labor, and Retail Employee.
