Even after six years on the market, Electronic Arts' The Sims 4 is an incredibly popular game, having hit a milestone 10 million monthly active users last quarter. That popularity has meant continual updates and DLC packs being released to expand upon the possibilities in the life simulation game, with the next big "Stuff Pack" focusing on knitting and online storefronts being given an official release date today.

The Sims 4's Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack coming on July 28, 2020, will add new rocking chair variants into the game that allow Sims to sit down and knit increasingly complex goods — from socks and caps to entire sweaters and more. Any objects they create can be sold through an Etsy-esque online retailer called Plopsy, where the characters can also buy unique items.

The informational post released by EA also outlines new stereo stations, such as for heavy metal music that increases a Sims' productivity when knitting. Nifty Knitting is the first community-voted Stuff Pack for The Sims 4, based on a competition held in November, and the game's ongoing popularity is also evidenced by it being one of two free Xbox games available last weekend.

Though EA has not specified how much this Stuff Pack will cost, all other previously released packs adding content like pets or backyard items have cost $9.99. On top of expansions that cost money, the game has also hosted free community events for its players, such as a Sims 4 Virtual Pride Parade in June.

The Sims 4 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
