Released in 2014, The Sims 4 has maintained an ever-growing fanbase. Players routinely participate in challenges related to creating sims, storylines, and building homes. Some fans enjoy utilizing the game cheats, like motherlode, and starting in luxury homes. Other fans like the challenge of starting in or building a starter home as inexpensive as possible.
Luckily, for those who find it difficult to build sim homes, let alone build a home within a starter's budget, the gallery is available. The gallery is full of The Sims 4 starter homes other players have built and uploaded. Some of these builds are incredibly impressive, even while staying within the most modest of budgets.

Some simmers even manage to build beautiful starter homes on a tiny budget and upload them to the gallery. Sadly, not everyone can create a complete, functional house without paying some extra Simoleons. Luckily, the gallery is filled with unique builds that aren’t only practical, but also very cheap.
14 Desert Oasis
Brought to the gallery by BBBanks710, this Desert Oasis has a price tag of $9,993. For under $10,000, sims are able to live in a spacious, elevated home with a loft bedroom, pool, and patio.
This build is also base-game, meaning fans do not need additional packs or expansions to have access to everything used to complete the home. This home has style, a little modern, with colors and landscaping that match the desert. This may be considered a starter home, but no one would guess it.
13 First Home
With a price of $9,989, slightly less than the Desert Oasis home, players can download First Home by AA_Cristina on the gallery. This home feels complete with the stone edging and front patio with outside furniture.
The floorplan wraps around with the kitchen on one side and the living room on the other, giving sims the sense of individual rooms while maintaining an open floorplan. The home includes two bedrooms and one bathroom, which means this can be a perfect starter home for a small family.
12 みぞえ765 Starter
The みぞえ765 Starter is a unique Sims 4 build that costs $9,942 and is uploaded by Kazz8630 on the gallery. It’s a two-story starter home that is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Simmers can also find a beautiful fishing lake just outside the entrance that's totally functional.
The first level has the kitchen, dining room, and living room altogether in an open floorplan. Additionally, the skylight above allows the sun to cast beautiful rays in the morning hours. The second floor has two single beds, so players can easily fit more than one sim in this beautiful build.
11 Fernwood
Fernwood is a cozy-looking cottage-style home uploaded by wrathofcath. Sims can own this home for a total of $9,909. The mix of stone and brown walls with dark brown accents gives this home a lot of character.
It certainly does not look like it should cost less than $10,000. Inside, it has a cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bath floorplan, and also includes a dining room. It may be small, but Fernwood is charming and well worth the price tag.
10 9K Two Bedrooms Starter
GymeaLillie uploaded this extremely modern build with a price of $9,487. It is tiny but manages to include two bedrooms. That's right, two! With simple, but complete landscaping, the home also gives sims a backyard patio with a picnic table.
The two-tone walls and tall windows open up the space and make the home feel a little larger than it really is. If players are looking for a modern starter, this is a great choice.
9 First House Family
This family home has a price of $8,986 and was uploaded to the gallery by Wiracotscha. The large front yard is fully enclosed with hedges and white fencing with a decorative archway.
The yard features a water fountain the length of the yard, patio furniture, and box planters. Inside the home, the floorplan includes two spacious bedrooms, a dining area, and a decent-sized kitchen.
8 Starter Home
Starter Home by Anneta Stark is a fairly small house that can be placed on a 20x15 Lot. Simmers can always put it on a bigger Lot and try to expand it if they wish for more space.
This cozy starter home is worth $8,961, and it has not one but two bedrooms; one for parents and another for a child. The latter can easily be transformed into a guest room or an office workspace. Unlike other Sims 4 builds, the first room in the house is the kitchen, then the living room.
7 Alcova Do Carvalho
Originally, this home was uploaded to the gallery by AlyssaBanks for $18,464, but user LauraSims04 turned the build into a starter home and reuploaded it for the price of $8,459. Barn red with stone accent walls gives this farm-style home immediate curb appeal. The exterior features planters on the lower-level windows and a small front porch.
The floorplan includes one bedroom, a large kitchen, and an office. The office is a nice addition for a starter home but would be easy to convert to a second bedroom if the sim household needed the room for a family.
6 Under 7K One Bed One Bath
This Under 7K 1 Bed 1 Bath home was uploaded to the gallery by LovelyKatieKitty and costs $6,076. The plan brick home is accented with landscaped plants around the edges and a small porch up to the decorative front door.
The interior has an open floorplan with one bedroom. It may not be extravagant in any way, but it's spacious enough and is well worth starting a sim life in this home.
5 Under 6K Blank Canvas
This Under 6k Blank Canvas home is available on the gallery from LeggyBird. This home is unfurnished, however, for a price of $5,080, players can furnish this Tudor-style cottage home themselves and still have Simoleans to spare. The interior is an open floorplan with a spacious bedroom.
The rounded room adds extra character. The only landscaping is a pebble path leading to the front door and the vines growing in the corners of the home. For just over $5,000, your sim is paying for charm and style, but it's worth every Simoleon.
4 Under 5K Starter
The Under 5k Starter was uploaded to the gallery by lilsimsie, a well-known YouTube simmer as a challenge to build a starter home for, as the name suggests, under $5,000. The final price of this starter is $4,993. The large front door serves as this tiny green home's main eye-catching feature.
The landscaping surrounds the home to create a cozy atmosphere and includes some patio furniture set in the grass. With one bedroom, this home may be tiny, but it certainly does not lack style and neatly contains everything a sim needs to start their sim life.
3 Micro Starter Under 5K
The Micro Starter Under 5k is an extremely modest home uploaded by 300699PG. The price for a sim to begin a life in this starter is a total of $2,982, fully furnished. It is tiny, but the large skylight opens the home and brings in the necessary light to such a small space.
The landscape is minimal and natural. The home manages to include one bedroom, one bathroom, and everything a sim needs to start their life. This build is also base-game, so again, no packs or expansions are necessary to download this incredibly inexpensive starter.
2 2K Starter Home
The 2K Starter Home by ZediousAmiharah costs $1,964. Although it is a 40x30 build, the house takes a small portion of the Lot, while the rest is filled with gardening tools and dirt patches. This starter home gives cottage vibes, and it has one bedroom and one bathroom. It's perfect for simmers who want to start a new Scenario in The Sims 4 without paying any extra Simoleons.
The 2K Starter Home is a mall house decorated with rustic furniture. There are some from Debug items, but they are completely functional. Keep in mind that the walls are also Debug, which means they can't be lowered using the wall option.
1 Less Than 2k Starter Home
The Less Than 2k Starter Home was uploaded by Sallen369 to help players easily start a Legacy Challenge since it only costs $1,604. It’s a small and simple A-frame build with minimum landscaping. The floorplan is very open, as the house consists of one room. Because of that, the bathroom is separated by a curtain from the other rooms to avoid any embarrassing Moodlets in The Sims 4.
Unfortunately, simmers won’t find a living room or a dining room, so sims will eat on the bed, In addition to not having any appliances for entertainment.
