Kits were introduced to The Sims 4 as a way to introduce smaller-sized DLCs with more niche focuses. Instead of other packs that might include objects and CAS items, kits sell small collections of these items separately. There has been one gameplay kit released, Bust the Dust, but the rest of the kits available are either object or CAS kits.
Each kit is priced at about five dollars, though there may be differences in each country with different conversion rates. Some players may choose to not purchase the kits based on the availability of Custom Content that serves the same purpose. While this isn't an option for console players, PC users of The Sims 4 can download various CC items from various creators that are able to replace some of the available kits. Here are a few CC sets that work as dupes or replacements for some of The Sims 4's kits.
7 Lovesick Set
After almost 9 years of lacking more underwear and intimate options, the Simtimates Collection kit was released in early 2023. The kit introduces fashionable and trendy items that include: bodysuits, underwear, boxers, shirts, and coverups to get Sims into that Flirty emotion. The Sims 4 also collaborated with MeUndies for this kit, releasing a top and bottom set.
CC creator Joliebean released the Lovesick Set, a set of underwear and intimates that have a similar feel to the Simtimates Collection kit. As a dupe/replacement for the Simtimates kit, Joliebean’s creations check many of the same boxes.
6 Hot Sim Disguise Clutter Set & ArtVitalex Bathroom CC Set
Some Simmers have been asking for more clutter items for the architecture simulator, and even entire clutter kits. The Bathroom Clutter kit was released to help fill the void in The Sims 4 builds. Whether players wanted a gorgeously organized vanity area or a messy bathroom, the Bathroom Clutter kit provides build mode items to help Simmers create the bathroom of their dreams.
If it’s hairdryers, countertop clutter, and skincare items that players are looking for, Ravasheen’s Hot Sim Disguise Clutter Set provides players with many similar items. The set is noted to have 20 clutter items with a bathroom and makeup focus. For bathroom floor clutter and bigger items, ArtVitalex has a bathroom CC set that includes a bathroom cart, towel rack, toilet paper stack, and other small clutter items.
5 Clutter Dump Set
For personal touches and a wholesome, lived-in feeling, the Everyday Clutter kit gives Sims objects that help illustrate their personalities. From workout clutter and items for coffee lovers to a vanity mirror and headphones on their own stand, Sims of all ages have more things to decorate their work-from-home office spaces with.
Simkoos’s clutter dump set includes similar workout items like rolled-up yoga mats and dumbbells. There is even a video game controller and headphones for the gaming Sims, and some adorable little potted plants for the pixel plant moms.
4 Irregular Living Set & Back To School Set
With all things retro and vintage coming back into popularity, the Pastel Pop kit has items that fit the 60s to 80s and 00s vibes that many Simmers would recognize. The kit has wavy and curvy lines that combine with colorful pastels that just feel perfectly groovy, and are the perfect fit for a High School Years teen's room.
The Irregular living set by Hydrangea and the Back To School collaboration set between Mechtasims and Kerrigan House Designs can be combined to create the same pastel-pink retro feeling of the Pastel Pop kit. Simmers can have the same wavy, groovy, and trendy items in their game without dropping the cash on the Kit.
3 Novalicious Set
Simmers can import the spirit of Carnaval into their The Sims 4 game with the sparkly and colorful Carnaval Streetwear kit and some base game CAS items. The looks featured are in collaboration with Pabllo Vittar to capture the culture and spirit of Brazil’s Carnaval festival, and a Simlish version of Pabllo Vittar’s song ‘Buzina’ was added to players’ in-game radios.
Novalicious, the clothes CC pack collaboration by Joliebean and Anotherplumbob has sparkly and colorful clothing that is reminiscent of the Carnaval Streetwear kit. More items that can be used to replace the contents of the Carnaval Streetwear kit can be found on Joliebean’s downloads page.
2 The Perfect Night & Stibium Play Tent
A kit for little toddlers and kids in The Sims 4, Little Campers kit lets their imaginations run wild. Cardboard boxes turn into a car or a rocket ship, and the kit has more adorable DIY items with a magic touch that only a child with a box of crayons and a dream can provide.
Mods and CC can provide toddler Sims with some more fun and gameplay, and with some creativity and a CC set for drive-in movies, the Little Campers kit can be recreated for that backyard movie magic. And for the play tent featured, creator wondymoon has created the Stibium Play Tent for toddlers to have fun in.
1 Get Festive Set, Sentate X Trillyke 2020, & Sentate March 2022 Collection
Date night chic meets current fashion in the Moonlight Chic kit. Blazers, sequins, and a slinky dress can outfit Sims that set the tone for their romances and their Woohoo escapades - however long they may last. The kit is noted to be inspired by the fashion of today’s youth in order to create fashion that combines classic aesthetics with new and trendy ideas.
Joliebean, along with Sentate, feature in this mix of CC to create a viable dupe for the Moonlight Chic kit. Joliebean’s Get Festive set, a collaboration with Serenity, has a figure-hugging silky dress that mirrors the EA kit. The sets by Sentate, the 2020 Trillyke collaboration, and the March 2022 collection feature great replacements for items in the kit. This includes chic and structured blazers, camo print, and stunning cropped tops.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
