It’s always exciting to learn about a celebrity whose family is into the world of gaming. We’ve listed celebrity gamers on multiple occasions and, considering the franchise’s popularity, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Pokemon in particular gets a lot of love from celebs. Most recently, one of the stars of F8: Fate and the Furious took a break from promoting the new movie to share a precious Pokemon-themed surprise he put together for his daughter.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is usually known for playing the tough guy, but over Easter weekend he took on a different kind of role to make his daughter smile. Johnson’s daughter, Jasmine, choose Pikachu as her favorite Pokemon (a good choice) and on multiple occasions her dad has visited her in a full body Pikachu suit. There are some crucial missing features (where’s the tail?!), but overall the costume seems to have the intended effect as Jasmine runs around screaming ‘Peekyu!’
Here’s a quick look at Johnson sneaking a break during a very long game of “I run away and you chase me Pikachu.”
The first time Jasmine's favorite character, Pikachu came to visit her months ago she was only crawling. For Easter Sunday @laurenhashianofficial and I thought, Pikachu should make a special visit once again. Well, Pikachu didn't account for the fact that now Jazzy RUNS and for 2hrs straight she wants to play her new favorite game, "I run away and you chase me Pikachu. And you're not allowed to take a break until I go night night". At the end of the vid you can hear her yell, "Peekyu" because she can't say, Pikachu. I'm tired, today's my only day off, it's 118 degrees in this costume and Hobbs keep trying to p*ss on my leg. And I luv every minute of it. Bring it on. It's what daddy's do. Happy Easter to you guys and enjoy your families. #Rockachu #DaddyPuttinInWork #TheGameThatNeverEnds #PikachuLooksBloated
Johnson looks pretty out of breath at the point this video was taken and he is almost busted before he puts the enormous head back on and continues chasing his daughter around the house. The special treat lined up with the Easter holiday (and the Pokemon GO Easter event), but we do feel it’s important to point out that Pikachu isn’t actually a bunny, despite the big ears. We think it’s probably safe to assume that Johnson knows that and is just using the holiday as an excuse to surprise his daughter with a visit from her favorite character. Despite the flaws of the cosplay, we definitely approve.
