Pokemon is a global phenomenon with several new games in the works as of writing, and it appears that another new title may soon join the in-progress list. The Pokemon Company recently posted a job ad that may hint at a new 3D game coming out for PC and mobile platforms.

The ad is looking to fill a position for a Senior 3D Artist--specifically, someone who can serve as a 3D generalist and create a variety of 3D assets, including immersive environments, game assets, and proof-of-concept prototypes. This isn't the first time fans have made educated guesses about The Pokemon Company's future projects by analyzing job listings, but the ad does appear to suggest that a new game is in the works.

According to the ad, the Senior 3D artist will be producing high-quality game content for mobile and PC platforms. It states that applicants will be using leading industry modeling, sculpting, and texturing tools to create supported products, presumably connected to the Pokemon franchise. Responsibilities for the position will include working with art leads and design, effectively producing prototypes, integrating game assets into the Unity engine, and doing a lot of troubleshooting.

The focus on creating prototypes and assets appears to suggest that the project The Pokemon Company is hiring for is still in the early stages. Additionally, the focus on mobile and PC specifically doesn't appear to fit any existing Pokemon games known to be in production, as Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are all expected to be Switch exclusive. While Niantic is hiring for Pokemon GO, that game is a mobile title with no PC version. All of this seems to add up to paint a very specific picture of an upcoming 3D Pokemon title so early in production that employees are being hired to create what may be the game's earliest builds.

While it is technically possible that the job listing could have been posted for a position attached to a non-Pokemon game, in practice The Pokemon Company is so thoroughly associated with the Pokemon franchise that even the job listing contains a reminder of what they do. It reminds possible applicants of how successful the Pokemon franchise has been over the years and lists the many mediums the franchise has spread to, including trading cards, anime, licensing, marketing, brand management, and home entertainment. This seems to suggest that the position is indeed attached to a new Pokemon game.
