Jon Favreau, the creator of Disney+'s smash hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian, is all set for the next season of the show. No, not season 3. His eyes see further into the future, and that means season 4 is already taking shape in that creative mind. With The Mandalorian season 3 all set to dominate the conversation on Disney+, now is obviously the perfect time to talk about The Mandalorian season 4. Favreau seems as eager as the fans to discuss what comes next for the planet-hopping freelancer, and it looks like he's got a head start on things. Rather than just sitting back and basking in the joy of season 3 as fans get to experience it for the first time, apparently there's no rest for the wizard. But it's not just out of enthusiasm. He's got a plan.RELATED: Star Wars: Andor Director Forgot Something Important While Working On The ShowIn a recent interview with French news channel BFMTV, Favreau dropped the reveal that he's not only begun writing season 4 of The Mandalorian, but he and fellow executive producer Dave Filoni made some significant progress. "Season 4? Yeah, I've written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So I was writing it during post-production, because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story."

That continuation seems to spread to the various other Star Wars series on Disney+ as well, as Favreau went on to discuss shows like Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, the former of which is being handled by Filoni, and how they all share a sort of connection. "He's doing Ahsoka, which I'm producing with him, but he's the writer/showrunner on that," Favreau continued. "And so, to understand what's happening on other shows or even Skeleton Crew, [they] all take place in the same Star Wars time period. So there's a lot more things that we have to keep in mind and stuff that we've built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well."

The mention of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is an interesting one, as the upcoming Jude Law-led series appears to give off a much more child-friendly vibe than other shows in this particular pantheon. The Mandalorian and Ahsoka make sense sharing a connection since Rosario Dawson's titular character from the latter made an appearance in the former. But given the more gritty tone of The Mandalorian, which will likely carry over into Ahsoka, it will be interesting to see how something like Skeleton Crew could mesh with them.

Or perhaps things will come together in a similar way to how The Book of Boba Fett basically turned into The Mandalorian season 2.5. Skeleton Crew could serve as a similar bridge via exciting cameos while still telling its own story. But however things turn out, it's quite nice to know that Favreau and his team are already laser-focused on the next phase of The Mandalorian. Looks like this plucky little massive success of a show has got a bright future.

The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+, with season 3 premiering March 1st.
