So with The Mandalorian season 3 just launching, Star Wars marketing teamed up with Google to have Grogu featured on the search engine’s home site to fool around with fans’ requests.After a lengthy hiatus since late 2020, The Mandalorian season 3 sees Din Djarin and Grogu paired up again as its titular character embarks on a quest for redemption on his people’s home planet. The duo’s reunion was featured in The Book of Boba Fett, which saw Grogu undergo training with Luke Skywalker. According to Jon Favreau, more time had passed than viewers might initially think, suggesting the youngling’s force powers could have grown.By jumping over to Google and conducting some Mandalorian-related searches, be it on mobile or a desktop browser, Star Wars fans will be treated to a special easter egg featuring Baby Yoda. If tapped or clicked, Grogu will instantly start using the force for his entertainment. News of this was shared via the show’s social media handles, which wisely hid the actual outcome, so everyone can head to Google and see how Grogu starts using his force telekinesis on one’s search results.
The Mandalorian and Google's campaign started shortly after season 3’s premiere. However, it's unknown if it will be kept until April 19, when this new 8-episode season wraps up. Previously, Google had placed a similar The Last of Us easter egg on its site that would spread fungi all over users’ screens to promote another hit series starring Pedro Pascal.
In The Mandalorian season 3 premiere, “The Apostate,” Grogu's force powers were used only for fun and games. However, the trailers have hinted that he’ll use them more significantly later. This new episode of The Mandalorian did divide fans to some extent, with some considering it an insufficient or dull entry and others simply loving to see Din Djarin and Grogu back together. However, The Mandalorian season 3 episode 1 still packed Star Wars easter eggs.
Episode 2 of season 3, or Chapter 18, will see Mando and Grogu start their journey to the Living Waters of Mandalore after finding Bo-Katan down on her luck.
