The wait is finally over and the way has been shown. After months of speculation and eager anticipation, Lucasfilm dropped the trailer for The Mandalorian season 2, showing new footage, a new story, and a bevy of action. Following the incredibly successful first season of The Mandalorian, there is much to be excited about.

The news comes from the Star Wars twitter page, which dropped the trailer for The Mandalorian season 2 this morning, following the news of the release date. The two-minute trailer picks up some time after the events of the first season, with Mando and Baby Yoda still wandering the galaxy, searching for a home, and evading the remnants of The Galactic Empire. The Mandalorian season 2 sees the return of Pedro Pascal as the titular anti-hero, as well as the return of allies Cara Durne (Gina Carano) and Greef Caga (Carl Weathers). Giancarlo Esposito returns as Moff Gideon and Bill Burr as Mayfield.  A new cast is coming aboard for season 2, which includes Sasha Banks, Michael Biehn, and Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano.)

The trailer features all of the hallmarks and staples of a sci-fi westerner with a few new surprises. Mando and Baby Yoda take center stage, and we see brief glimpses of Cara and Greef. The stakes are higher as the remnants of the Empire aggressively pursue on speeder bikes. Mando tangles with New Republic X-Wings, and even set sights at sea on a mysterious planet. Throughout the trailer, The Armoror (Emily Swallow) instructs a new mission to Mando, and that is to locate the mysterious order of sorcerers, known as The Jedi. For Mando, the Jedi are no allies of his. However, this is the way.

The Mandalorian was released last Fall, and quickly became the definitive reason to own a Disney+ account. The use of practical effects, coupled with a strong, western-inspired narrative and great performances, made The Mandalorian an excellent addition to the Star Wars canon.  The first season of The Mandalorian garnered rave reviews and feedback, not to mention multiple Emmy Award nominations

The Mandalorian Season2 exclusively streams on Disney+ on October 30th, 2020
