In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, there are certain collectible items called Treasures. Treasures are special objects in that they can be used to upgrade various pieces of Link's equipment to different degrees, enabling him to better save Skyloft and Hyrule. One of these Treasures are the Ancient Flowers, an extremely scarce and hard-to-find material.

A high-definition remaster of the 2011 Wii title of the same name, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD offers Switch owners a more polished version of the original incarnation of the Hero of Time's adventure. In addition to improved visuals, the new iteration of the game comes with several quality-of-life improvements, such as the ability to skip tutorials, a much less intrusive Fi, and an autosave feature.

How to Find Ancient Flowers

As mentioned before, Ancient Flowers are extremely rare, and can only be found in essentially one area. Players will need to head to the Lanayru region, home to the Lanayru Mining Facility and sprawling Lanayru Desert. The first location where one can be found is in the far southern region of the desert, near the Bird Statue located by the desert entrance. By hitting the Timeshift Stone, Link will make a wall of climbable vines appear, where one of the Ancient Flowers is waiting at the top. Another location are the nearby caves just south of the southern desert entrance. Players must bowl bombs down the long quicksand passage, activating another Timeshift Stone to access another Ancient Flower in the large pool of quicksand to the south.

Additionally, players can find two more of the prehistoric petals just outside of the Temple of Time. Located at the eastern end of the gorge, the pair of Ancient Flowers can be accessed by hitting the Timeshift Stone on the spire near the entrance, and then using the Beetle to collect them. In addition to the Ancient Flowers, the Lanayru Desert is also where tumbleweeds can be found, making the region ideal for farming certain Treasures.

Ancient Flowers are a necessary material when it comes to upgrading two major items: Link's Bug Net and the Beetle. Both the flowers and tumbleweeds are needed to craft the Big Bug Net, which is capable of catching multiple bugs at once. Players will want to stock up if they want the fully upgraded Tough Beetle, which requires three Ancient Flowers, four Amber Relics, a Blue Bird Feather, and a Goddess Plume. An Ancient Flower is also required to repair Scrapper, the ancient robot found in Gondo's stall at the Skyloft Bazaar.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD players who follow this guide should round up ample Ancient Flowers in no time, able to upgrade items and do and discover more than ever before.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is available now on Nintendo Switch.
