Critical Role is just a few short weeks away from launching its third main campaign after wrapping up the adventures of the Mighty Nein over the summer. That isn’t the only piece of excitement in that particular Dungeons and Dragons fandom this month though. During New York Comic-Con, the core CR crew also made an appearance for a special discussion about the upcoming Legend Vox Machina cartoon.

Vox Machina is the name of the crew from Critical Role’s first campaign and their adventures will soon be adapted for an Amazon animated series. The tales will follow the same characters and locations from campaign one, though should be full of surprises and new twists and turns. During the NYCC appearance, the panel dropped both the first look at the series premiere date.

The Legend of Vox Machina will make its streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video February 4, 2022. To help hold fans over during the four month wait, the opening credits were also revealed…

“This is only the beginning of the journey, and we can’t wait for the series to be out in the world in just a few months, weaving its threads of fate within and beyond Exandria.”

The event also included an extended preview with a pretty amazing side-by-side table read featuring the CR crew and animation preview:

There is definitely a lot of hype heading into the series for Dungeons and Dragons fans and CR fans. If the show is a hit, it could potentially open the door for a Mighty Nein series or for other popular live plays like Dimension 20’s Fantasy High to be considered for future projects at Amazon and other studios.

The Legend of Vox Machina releases on February 4, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
