Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Sony was set to go on a significant hot streak. April marks the release of PS4-exclusive Final Fantasy 7 Remake, whereas May was going to include both Iron Man VR and The Last of Us 2. Unfortunately, Sony had to indefinitely delay The Last of Us 2 and Iron Man VR, with no new release dates in sight. Now the company has taken things a step further, removing both games from the PlayStation Store entirely.

Previously, PS4 owners could still pre-order The Last of Us 2 and Iron Man VR, but Sony has opted to pull the games from the PlayStation Store. It has also automatically issued refunds for The Last of Us 2 and Iron Man VR for anyone that had already digitally pre-ordered the games.

It's unclear why Sony decided to go as far as removing the games from the PlayStation Store entirely. Usually it would just change the release dates, but maybe this is because Sony is anticipating a significant delay for the games due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, fans should standby for more information on that front before they become too worried.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen what this will mean for Sony's other future games. As of the time of this writing, the PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima is still on track for its June release date, with no delay announced so far. However, if the coronavirus pandemic worsens or is still having a significant impact on daily living come June, then one has to imagine that a Ghost of Tsushima delay is in the cards as well.

Industry insiders have told fans to brace for more video game delays in the coming weeks and months, so a Ghost of Tsushima delay actually seems more likely to happen than not, unfortunately. But until Sony announces the delay and removes Ghost of Tsushima from the PlayStation Store as it has done with The Last of Us 2 and Iron Man VR, fans shouldn't get too worked up about it.

In the meantime, Sony has released some stunning new Last of Us 2 screenshots in an attempt to tide fans over until they can get their hands on the finished product. Hopefully that day comes sooner rather than later, and Last of Us 2 enthusiasts don't have to endure any additional delays.
