A player of The Last of Us Part 1 noticed something about the title's axe. Sometimes developers will sneak in small but impressive elements into their games, which are often found by eagle-eyed players. The Last of Us Part 1 has a number of these hidden details that are being spotted by those keeping their eyes open as they play the title.

The Last of Us Part 1 released for the PlayStation 5 earlier this month, and was rebuilt using Naughty Dog's latest engine technology. This has given the game better visuals as well as fully integrated DualSense controller features. The title is a faithful remake, allowing players to experience the same story that was told back in 2013. A fan of The Last of Us Part 1 noticed an amazing aspect about one of the game's weapons that shows the amount of attention to detail that went into the remake.

A Reddit user named Dat_Bokeh posted an image of an axe from The Last of Us Part 1 that was close to breaking. In the picture, it can be seen that the bloody weapon has a crack near the top of the handle, as well as a splinter near the middle. This is such a small detail for Naughty Dog to add to the game, as well as notice is there when playing.

Dat_Bokeh's image is gaining popularity as the post currently sits at over 1,800 upvotes. One commenter stated it is crazy that we have gone from Pong and 8-bit Mario to being able to see the threads in a character's shirt within their lifetime. Another user joked that The Last of Us Part 1's Joel is hitting his enemies way too hard, while a number of others mentioned that they would have liked the axe to have better durability as a real life tool would not break so easily.

Dat_Bokeh's discovery is not the only small detail in The Last of Us Part 1 that has been found. A Twitter user known as Rad Dad Redemption smashed a glass bottles into an enemies face and then immediately went into photo mode. The still that they were able to capture shows that there were shards of broken glass stuck in the foe's face. Small elements such as these help show how much developers are paying attention to the titles that they are producing, as well as demonstrate just how far video games have come over the years.

The Last of Us Part 1 is available now for the PlayStation 5, and is in development for PC.
