An Easter egg for the Uncharted franchise was shown off in the latest episode of HBO's The Last of Us TV series. The recent adaptation of the popular horror video game is off to an amazing start with stellar reviews from critics and fans alike. Currently, The Last of Us is the second-biggest launch for a series on HBO and is also being praised as one of the best live-action adaptations for a video game.A huge part of the success of the TV series adaptation is undoubtedly the fact that Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, is listed as one of the executive producers on the show. Druckmann has made his debut as a director on the TV series with the most recent episode and decided to include an Easter egg to Naughty Dog's other series, Uncharted. The episode airs shortly after accusations from former The Last of Us director Bruce Straley who feels as if he should have been credited in the TV series as well.RELATED: The Last of Us Part 1 Sees Huge Spike in Sales Following HBO ShowControversy aside, The Last of Us has extreme accuracy to the source material while adding world building and lore aspects that are not present in the video game. Neil Druckmann decided to share that episode 2 of The Last of Us that just aired yesterday featured a design on Tess' lighter was actually modeled after the lighter Sam Drake has in Uncharted 4. Druckmann also added that the props department were kind enough to create a duplicate for Troy Baker, the voice actor for Sam as well as Joel from the Last of Us video game.

Fans replied to the initial tweet sharing their love for the adaptation and how well it has been handled. Several fans expressed their love that all these different departments are jumping in on the Easter egg fun, considering how prevalent Easter eggs are in Naughty Dog games. Another user stated that they can't wait to see a Victor Sullivan look-alike featured as a clicker in future episodes.

So far, The Last of Us is living up to and exceeding fan expectations that will hopefully become the industry standard for video game adaptations. The TV series adaptation comes at the perfect time as The Last of Us approaches its 10-year anniversary, and it seems like Naughty Dog and HBO have plenty more for fans to enjoy in the coming weeks.
