A few days ago, Naughty Dog revealed a heap of new information about The Last of Us 2. The game is now just a few weeks away, and while fans likely won't be getting any more major information dumps between now and then, Naughty Dog did reveal some gorgeous new Last of Us 2 concept art in a video.
The "Inside the Details" video uploaded by PlayStation to YouTube yesterday debuted a decent amount of new concept art, much showing just how much more overgrown contaminated zones have become since the last game. While the original Last of Us did feature dilapidated cities, it appears that things will be much more overgrown this time, highlighting the time gap between now and the last entry.
The concept art debuts towards the end of the video, much of it showing off Ellie on horseback. Judging by The Last of Us 2 gameplay and the concept art, it appears fans may be spending far more time on a horse than they did in the first game. That isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, though it will hinge on how easy the horse is to control.
The Last of Us 2 is also overhauling enemies. During the State of Play presentation, Naughty Dog revealed some of the changes to both Ellie and her adversaries, both human and infected. In general, enemies seem more intelligent, plus new infected will debut in the game that will spice things quite a bit. Additionally, Naughty Dog hinted that infected and humans will overlap in Last of Us 2, something that didn't happen much in the first game, but should create an interesting dynamic in certain sections.
All of that, coupled with new small details in Last of Us 2, has led to an impressive-looking game. Fans will have to wait until it actually releases to be sure, but it seems like fans of The Last of Us are in for a treat, even if that means an incredibly dark and brutal game.
Luckily, there are only about three more weeks until it's available, making The Last of Us 2's indefinite delay seem blown just a bit out of proportion. Still, there are plenty of PlayStation fans anxiously awaiting the next entry in the series.
