The Last Guardian is full of secrets that unlock trophies and this guide walks players through the process for obtaining the balancing barrels reward.
After about a decade of delays and waiting, The Last Guardian has finally arrived. The long-awaited follow up to Shadow of the Colossus and Ico isn’t getting perfect reviews, but there is still plenty to love about the game. In addition to a fantastic story that is sure to cause some heartache, there are also some fun trophies to claim for players who are looking for a challenge in The Last Guardian.
One of The Last Guardian’s secrets involves unlocking costumes inspired by Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, but there are plenty of other achievements to strive for, as well. One of the easy trophies to pick up can be earned by stacking barrels and going for a short walk right at the start of the game.
Here is a quick breakdown courtesy of PowerPyx of how players can add this trophy to their digital shelves…
This is a pretty straightforward trophy to unlock once players know what is expected of them. For those who prefer text instead of a video demonstration, here is the play by play…
The goal of this challenge is to move 10 meters while carrying 2 or more stacked barrels. The easiest spot to check this off the list is actually in the game’s starting zone. There are three barrels nearby and the room provides plenty of uninterrupted space to concentrate on the short walk.
First, players need to stack two barrels on top of each other. To pull this off, drop one barrel on the ground (press X) and then go retrieve a second barrel. Return to the first barrel’s location and press X to drop the second one on top of the first.
Once the barrels are stacked, the next step is picking them up and taking a short walk. Pick the stack up by pressing circle and then walk in a straight line for 10 meters. Be sure to walk slowly and continue walking in a straight line. Turning around or going too fast can cancel out the progress and players will need to start again. One the walk is completed, that’s all there is to it! The trophy should then unlock.
After pre-orders exceeded expectations, plenty of gamers have been diving into The Last Guardian this week. We expect the hardcore fans to continue unlocking secrets and hidden trophies in the coming days, so check back for more tips and guides.
