DC revealed the first official artwork for Barry Allen's new suit in The Flash, one of it's next major movies. The reveal came as part of DC FanDome, a digital event hosted by DC with a slate of new announcements and reveals, which has shown something for many fans of DC, in addition to the Flash's new suit.

The suit is a pretty drastic departure from the one the Flash wears in the Justice League movie. Where that one seemed like it could exist in the real world, the Flash's new suit has an "organic" look, and appears to be far more form-fitting than the original. Additionally, it appears to have lights built into it, which spread throughout the Flash's legs and torso.

The suit does have more of a comic book vibe than the original did, and is almost reminiscent of Iron Man's transition from bulky armor into the nanotech suit he has in Avengers: Endgame, but with some DC flair. In the movie, Batman is the one that designs the suit, so the futuristic, sleek look makes sense.

Some of the concept art even shows Batman, and it has been confirmed that Ben Affleck is returning as Batman in The Flash,  so there's a strong likelihood that the character will play a big role in the film. Both heroes are immediately recognizable, but with Batman being such an iconic superhero, the character's presence will undoubtedly give the film an extra edge.

Suits are an integral part of a superhero's identity, and the change with the Flash's attire may hint at shift for the character from what fans saw in Justice League. Now that Barry Allen is holding the spotlight, it could be a great chance for DC to overhaul the film interpretation of the character.

DC movies have had trouble finding their footing in a post-MCU landscape, opening them up to a mountain of criticism from fans. However, that could all change, as the company appears to be listening. HBO Max has confirmed it's getting the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie, which fans have been asking for quite some time, some at least some feedback is helping DC change course.

Hopefully, DC is able to knock The Flash movie out of the park, paving the way for future successful ventures. After Joker and with the promising new film The Batman on the horizon, the future of DC's movies does seem a lot brighter.

The Flash is expected to release on June 2, 2022.
