Yesterday, Bethesda gave the world its first official look at The Evil Within 2 with a three minute long initial trailer. The upcoming release of a follow-up to the 2014 horror title didn’t come as a surprise to gamers who have been following the E3 2017 newsweek, since advertisements for the game had accidentally begun circulating Reddit a day before Bethesda’s press conference was slated to begin. As if to follow up to this, Amazon has released a new gameplay trailer before Bethesda has even had the chance to do so.
The two-minute-long video for The Evil Within 2 may not be presented in the high definition quality that other E3 2017 trailers have arrived in, but it certainly makes up for the lack of visual fidelity with a vast array of content. It seems like every hallway that Sebastian walks down will be filled with horrors just around the corner, and the monstrous enemies range from banshees and humanoid figures to a long-armed mass of flesh that seems hell-bent on preventing Sebastian’s attempted rescue of his daughter.
Gamers can take a look at the official The Evil Within 2 gameplay trailer below:
Bethesda’s first trailer had confirmed that the game will arrive on Friday, October 13, 2017, meaning gamers will be able to continue Sebastian’s attempted rescue of Lily over the holiday window. Gamers new to the series who noted some design similarities between this and Resident Evil can pat themselves on the back, as the Evil Within series has been led by former Resident Evil developer Shinji Mikami and his relatively new studio, Tango Gameworks.
The Amazon listing also confirms that the digital edition of the game will run a price tag of $59.99, though we expect a collector’s edition will also be announced before the game arrives this October. While the Amazon listing only mentions the PlayStation 4 edition of the title, it will release concurrently for both PC and Xbox One as well. Whether the game can build on the horrors that the original The Evil Within laid out, however, remains to be seen.
Do any enemies in the gameplay trailer for The Evil Within creep you out, Ranters?
