About a couple of weeks ago, the publisher Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks released a gameplay trailer for the forthcoming survival-horror title The Evil Within 2 that showcased one of the release’s more disturbing creatures known as The Guardian. Now, it seems as if the companies are ready to show off even more of the game’s nightmarish monsters, as the latest piece of gameplay footage touches on the protagonist Sebastian Castellanos’ attempt to save his daughter from the nightmarish monsters inside of STEM.

As seen below in The Evil Within 2‘s aptly titled gameplay trailer “Race Against Time,” fans can get a look at Sebastian fighting against a variety of different horrific abominations such as hordes of zombie-like mutants, flamethrower-wielding mercenaries, and even giant tentacle creatures. Of course, monsters aren’t the only threat that our main character has to deal with, as he also has to defeat the human antagonists of the death-obsessed photographer Stefano Valentini and the religious zealot known as Theodore.

For those unaware, several of the creatures found in the above trailer have been shown off in prior pieces of footage for The Evil Within 2, with some others being absent in the clip in order to make room for the never-before-seen monstrosities. For instance, a sidequest video that was released about a couple of weeks ago gave fans a look at a lanky, female paranormal entity hellbent on Sebastian’s destruction, and the fearsome fiend was nowhere to be found in the most recent gameplay trailer.

Taking all of this into consideration, it’s a safe bet to make that Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have yet to unveil all of the nemeses that Sebastian will have to defeat in the quest to save his daughter’s life, as the companies will surely want to save some surprises for those purchasing The Evil Within 2 upon its release next month. So, with any luck, fans will get an even more frightening followup to the initial title in the series, and will face a glut of gruesome foes that will stoke the flames of their fears.

The Evil Within 2 is set to launch on October 13, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
