Gamers love to have cosmetic options in games of all kinds, and MMOs like World of Warcraft have long given away free pets to players through various events. With the newest update coming to ZeniMax Online Studios' The Elder Scrolls Online, players will get to experience a mini-event where they can get a free pet.

The Elder Scrolls Online is about to begin its yearlong story for 2021 called Gates of Oblivion, fresh off of last year's Dark Heart of Skyrim adventure. As part of the game's introduction of new content, ZeniMax will overhaul ESO's end-game Champion System. The fresh update to the Champion System restructures the constellations that players can put Champion Points into, and therefore everyone will have to reassign all their points when the update is live.

To celebrate the introduction of the new Champion System, and the Flames of Ambition DLC, The Elder Scrolls Online has announced the Heroes Reforged mini-event. The two-week event will allow players to reassign Champion Points, Skills, and Attributes at Rededication Shrines as many times as they want. Since players will have to get used to how the new Champion System works, ZeniMax wanted players to have the opportunity to freely try out their options.

Additionally, since players will automatically have to set aside time to work through the new system, Elder Scrolls Online players can get a free new pet. The Ambersheen Vale Fawn will be found in the Crown Store for free, only during the event period.

The Heroes Reforged event is great news for players who may want to experiment to find the best build that works for their ESO characters. Typically, skill and point respecs would cost players in-game gold, so players will now have more flexibility to try out new things, at least for two weeks.

At the very least, the Heroes Reforged event gives players an excuse to boot up Elder Scrolls Online again just to grab the cute fawn pet. Many players love adding new pets to their collections, and pets have even been included in games like Genshin Impact in the form of Mini Seelies. The Heroes Reforged Event runs from March 8 through March 22 for PC, and runs from March 16 to March 30 for consoles.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
