It has been awhile since the last expansion for Bethesda's huge online RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online, was released. The game's first expansion, Morrowind, took players back to the classic location from The Elder Scrolls 3, and the most recent expansion, Summerset, took players to the Summerset Isles. Recently, Elder Scrolls Online has teased the location for the next expansion, presumably titled Elsweyr, which is none other than the land of the Khajiit.

Initially, dataminers found this information about the upcoming expansion, but it was soon confirmed by developer Zenimax Online Studios. The game's official Twitter account also tweeted that a special livestream will take place on January 15 with the tagline "Cat's out of the bag!" According to the Elder Scrolls Online website, the live stream will give players the opportunity to find out how they can learn more about the upcoming chapter and what they can expect from the game in 2019.

For those who are not familiar with Elder Scrolls lore often found in the books in the game, Elsweyr is a region in Tamriel that is home to the Khajiit, a playable feline race that has featured in every main series game so far. After the events of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim took place, Elsweyr was separated into two nations, both of which are part of the Aldermi Dominion. Elder Scrolls Online takes place before the events of Skyrim though, so it will probably not be divided into two nations yet.

Players can expect a desert-like landscape in Northern Elsweyr, and dense jungles in the south. The province shares borders with Valenwood to its west, Cyrodill to the north, and Black Marsh to the east, across the Topal Sea. Of course many fans are excited to visit the region, as it has not featured in any of the main series games. There is also not much known about Elsweyr, so during the live stream players will be able to find out more details about it and the future of the game.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
