The Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games to yet have an official release date, and this is true despite the abysmal lack of information about anything surrounding it, including its main region. Many fans have been speculating for a long time that the most appropriate and likely region for The Elder Scrolls 6 is Hammerfell, but this is largely based on the only piece of information Bethesda provided fans with: the teaser trailer from E3 2018. While many editions of Skyrim have come and gone over the past 11 years, Bethesda has been oddly silent about the next installment in The Elder Scrolls saga, to the point that fans know it exists just because of that same teaser trailer from over four years ago.

Starfield is an all-hands-on-deck situation for Bethesda, and while it makes sense that this is the case considering the size and scope of this upcoming title, it's been over 1600 days without any sort of update for The Elder Scrolls 6. According to Pete Parsons' comments, The Elder Scrolls 6 is not coming any time before Fable 4, and the latest leaks suggest that it could launch in October of next year. However, with Starfield's release date being moved to the first half of 2023, there's a strong possibility that the next trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 will not come before the end of 2023 at the earliest.

Starfield's Release Date and The Impact on The Elder Scrolls 6's Future

In order not to divert all the hype from Starfield's upcoming release, it makes a lot of sense for Bethesda to push any further big announcement back, up until the sci-fi exploration game is finally out and about. While the company hasn't pinpointed an exact release date for Starfield yet, it's more likely that it will come out in the spring than it is in the first quarter of 2023, and that's dangerously close to the fifth anniversary of the aforementioned E3 2018 teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6.

Since it remains a very unlikely chance that The Elder Scrolls 6 shows up anytime next year before June, the teaser trailer that Bethesda shared with fans will probably turn five before anything else is known. This is a strange case because games tend to leak online much sooner than in the past, and even big titles like The Last of Us 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6 are proof of this, meaning that Bethesda is likely keeping its cards very close to the chest.

November 11 is a big date for the studio, to the point that Starfield's initial release date was planned for this year's November 11, on the eleventh anniversary of Skyrim. As such, it's possible that November 11 will be involved to some degree with The Elder Scrolls 6, meaning that its second trailer ever could drop on this day next year, or maybe that the game will launch on this date in the future, further down the line. Regardless, with so much energy going into Starfield, the next installment of The Elder Scrolls saga is likely still years away.

Overall, fans shouldn't expect to hear anything about The Elder Scrolls 6 for a while, and there's a chance the game won't even be out before 2025. However, Bethesda does have a habit of revealing games more in detail and then launch them shortly thereafter, meaning that the same treatment could be reserved for the studio's popular saga. Fans will have to keep waiting, unfortunately, but Starfield might just make that time more pleasant once it comes out.
