Not too long ago, the video game publisher and developer Ubisoft openly announced its celebration of the 2nd anniversary for Tom Clancy’s The Division, revealing that the action-RPG managed to reach over 20 million players since its launch back in 2016. While Ubisoft seems intent to continue supporting the title for the time being, a slew of new job listings on the company's website could indicate that work on a potential sequel is already underway.

As seen below in the screenshots of Ubisoft's Careers page, should one search for jobs relating to The Divisiona wide range of positions show up, possibly indicating that the publisher and developer is looking for new hires to work on a sequel in its Malmö, Sweden studio, Massive Entertainment. In total, there are 25 job openings associated with the game on the company's Careers page, which include a narrative designer, a technical game designer, a senior level artist, a senior concept artist, an associate producer, and more.

According to the job descriptions in relation to the action-RPG, most mention that the roles will involve “expanding the world of The Division,” and will help to “create the best open world RPG experience ever.” Of course, since the listings offer nothing concrete in the way of what kind of content will be developed, it’s not clear whether the work will be in the form of a full sequel or expansions to the existing game.

Taking all of this into consideration, a followup to The Division definitely wouldn't be too farfetched of an idea, especially with Massive Entertainment’s Managing Director David Polfeldt teasing a couple of months ago that a sequel could be in the works for the action-RPG. Plus, it's difficult to imagine that such a large list of newly open positions at Ubisoft Massive relating to The Division would simply be for another add-on, especially with the most recent DLC, Last Stand, having released a little over a year ago. Then again, there's no telling exactly what the company has in mind for the franchise, so we will have to wait and see what transpires.

Tom Clancy's The Division is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
