One common complaint about the first Division was the lack of anything compelling to do in the endgame. Massive Entertainment has gone out of its way to make sure the same isn't true for The Division 2, giving players plenty to do once they wrap up the main story, including raids, side quests, live activities, and more. The endgame content also includes unlocking and upgrading three Specializations that come with their own special, especially powerful weaponry for players to have at their disposal.

To unlock Specializations in The Division 2, players have to first beat all of the main story missions, and then they need to hit the level 30 cap. There are ways The Division 2 players can get to level 30 fast if they want to speed up the process and unlock Specliaizations as quickly as possible. Once they've done this, The Division 2 players can access the three Specializations: Demolitionist, Sharpshooter, and Survivalist.

Players can swap between the three Specializations whenever they'd like, so they're not stuck with one if they aren't a fan of its special weapon.

  • Demolitionist (M32A1 Multi-shot Grenade Launcher)
  • Sharpshooter (TAC-50 C Rifle)
  • Survivalist (Explosive Tipped Crossbow)

The three different Specializations and the special weapons associated with them are all designed to deal with specific enemies and situations. For example, the Grenade Launcher is great for crowd control, and is most useful when there are a lot of enemies attacking the squad at once. The sniper rifle is best used from afar to safely pick off targets, and it's powerful enough to shoot through multiple enemies at once. The sniper rifle is also good for dealing with heavily-armored tank enemies, but the explosive tipped crossbow is even better in that regard, and is best used to defeat the more powerful foes players encounter in the game.

Ultimately, a well-balanced squad in The Division 2 should have representation from all three different Specializations, as the special weapons can all come in handy in different scenarios. However, they're all powerful enough that no single one is ever really a bad choice, so players may just want to stick with whatever their favorite is.

In the future, it's expected that The Division 2 will add even more Specializations for players to choose from as part of its planned Year 1 content. Details on those Specializations aren't available at this time, but more should be revealed when Ubisoft is ready to add them to the game.

The Division 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
