Ever since The Division 2 was officially announced earlier this year, fans of the third-person shooter series have been extremely excited for the chance to try the game out for themselves, with the title's beta having set a record to become the fastest-registering beta in Ubisoft's history. Now, the publisher and developer has decided to give potential players another look at the action-RPG by releasing a new gameplay trailer during gamescom 2018.

As seen below in The Division 2's official gameplay trailer for gamescom 2018, Ubisoft unfortunately doesn't offer up much in the way of actual gameplay. For instance, the clip primarily covers several locations found within a post-pandemic Washington D.C. while an unnamed character provides voice-over narration with generalized dialogue. It's only toward the end of the video that we actually see a group of Agents taking cover and engaging with an enemy – albeit one that's unseen – and the footage wraps up with one of squad members shooting up a signal flair.

For those who have yet to get a look at any actual gameplay for The Division 2, they would do well to check out the footage Ubisoft unveiled during E3 2018, as it provides a solid look at a team of Agents exploring Washington D.C. and attempting to instill order in the city. The gameplay segment all leads up to a firefight breaking out upon the squad's arrives at the crash site for what appears to be Air Force One, and shows off several of the new features and weapons that will be used in the game’s cover-based combat.

Although there are plenty of folks who are eager to go hands-on with The Division 2, some remain skeptical of whether or not Ubisoft will properly address all of the issues that plagued the original game in the third-person shooter series. For instance, the publisher and developer recently revealed that some of the game's special editions will include extra storage space, causing longstanding fans of the franchise to become critical of Ubisoft for offering that which many players believe should be free as a paid extra. With this being the case, it will be interesting to see how Ubisoft will try to win these particular gamers over, if at all.

The Division 2 is set to launch on March 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
