Since Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is one of Ubisoft's biggest upcoming games, it's no surprise that it was featured heavily during the company's E3 2018 press conference, with multiple trailers highlighting the experience. Besides hyping up what fans can expect from The Division 2 at launch, though, Ubisoft also teased what's coming to the game after its release.

As announced by Ubisoft today at E3 2018, the company is already planning The Division 2's first year of DLC. This DLC will include three episodes that will contain new story content, new areas for players to explore, and new activities to engage with. Better yet, all three of these DLC episodes will be available to all The Division 2 players for free.

The announcement that The Division 2 will have free DLC should come as a nice surprise to fans of the series, and continues a trend from this year's E3. It seems many developers have moved to free DLC models, relying on microtransactions to fund the continued development for their games. How exactly The Division 2 will fund its free DLC model remains to be seen, but fans can expect more information on that front as we near its release date next year.

It's possible that The Division 2's free DLC will include more than just new story content and areas to explore, however. We know that The Division 2 will have eight player raids, and so it seems like a distinct possibility that the game's DLC will feature raids as well. Of course, we know very little about how raids will work in The Division 2 at the time of this writing, but more information should come to light in the coming months.

While Ubisoft revealed a lot about The Division 2 at its E3 2018 press conference, it's clear that there is still a lot more to learn about the upcoming co-op shooter. Fans should keep their eyes peeled for more information on The Division 2 as E3 week continues.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be available on March 15, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
